Agreed. Very cute dress and girl. But I would have paired this dress with at least a black shoe. I understand the need for comfort when walking, but I think a heel might help this look out. It’s a versatile dress. It would look cute over jeans and THEN maybe those shoes would work.
Don’t know if my first comment was published.
Ok, again, just said Jane Birkin would have loved this look when she was young (she still is wonderful).
Birkenstock like sandals and a simple elegant dress, can’t hurt. And if the girl is pretty like she is, she can wear every dress!
I like the combination of sexy-off shoulder, innocent playful polka dots, and earthy yet elegant-in-spirit nude Birkenstocks. the whole ensemble shows a willingness and interest in playing with different codes of fashion and culture. I am fascinated by the upsurge in Birkenstock fashion–they’re everywhere here in Europe and the ways in which fashionable people interpret them is really interesting. That to me is the essence of street fashion. The nude color was omnipresent this summer. So different from the 80s Arizona-model-with-thick-socks thing, which I never could buy into. Morevoer, she looks comfortable and at ease.
Hooray for every photo with Birkenstocks. I´ll go tomorrow to buy the second pair of them in my life, as the old ones are really worn out. Bless them! (I have and wear quite a sortiment of other shoes as well, they come and go, but Birkenstocks are there to stay.)
