On the Street….Graphics, Florence

I love a graphic print like this, but it’s so tough to do as a standalone item.

Wearing it as a layer seems so much more subtle, and yet just as effective.

I totally agree with you…is the guy in photo 2 the same as photo 1 with different pants or the guy in photo 2 has exactly the same shirt as in photo 1?

i was wondering the same thing … is it the same person wearing the same jacket with different pants n shoes or two completely different person wearing the same jacket … the latter seems to be unlikely …

The aztec blew up in New York and then all but disappeared. I saw a lot of those gaudy coats around, I agree they’re a bit loud on their own. But it really appealed to a particular culture of kids… and some women.
    Funny that sounded odd.

U’re right,it seems much better when used as a layer, especially when ther e is much colour contrast on the print.but it might look good combinated with some other pants maybe…Ä° dunno :) Ä° actually kinda liked both looks

Original : un kilim sur le dos ! sympa pour la randonnée..;-)
J’aime beaucoup les chaussures de la 2ème photo et elles s’accordent bien avec le morceau de tapis qui dĂ©passe de la veste…:-)))

Like wearing a miniskirt over pants! At least from the back. The second photo may look just as ridiculous from the front. Looks like a fashion victim to me.

I love bold graphics, but it is a fine line as to what is too much. I love it layered too and the second pic looks great.

I prefer this type of pattern worn as a layer, as you said this is more subtile. As a standalone, this is too easy and to see it entirely, even if the pattern is beautiful, the outfit becomes unequal, excessive. The patern is not extravagant but to me the outfit needed the black jacket to brins simplicity. Details are better. To show everything is not fun.

I think the “dose” of graphic print should also be in relation with the face. For instance in my case I can not use too much color and figures because I feel that I “dissapear” and people will look at the clothes instead of me…I know its a little woody allen kind of thing but that`s what I think..

Blanket jackets are very popular right now. You can even find blanket parts on sweaters. The Pendletons are particularly nice, and pricey.

Do all people in florence take lessons in how to perfectly cuff their trousers to show their fabulous footwear? Men and women do this. I am going to practice.

I’m unsure about your sentiment. I feel that if you understate the rest of the outfit [like what the first photo did with the khaki pants and simple shoes], the print works well! You just don’t need to overdue it with something so powerful!

Regardless, a great set of photos and I totally want that jacket for myself :)

Why do you think this is so “tough to do as a standalone item”? Ideally a fairly “strong” personality will help to pull it off, but I don’t think a wallflower is going to buy this jacket anyway. The light khakis aren’t right for it; really needs a dark denim to balance it – that’s the only problem I see. Do you think he bought those pants, or had the button feature added later? As a shorter guy, I like that as an option to rolling the cuff or hemming. Oh, don’t generally like seeing something longer sticking out from under a coat (looks like you don’t have the right coat), but this kind of works. Thanks!

This makes me sad. That “graphic print” was once a tribal pattern with prayers and meaning. Now it’s nameless on a white guy looking fab.
