oh yeah, here you go, everything about her — the gorgeous indigo and white striped vest, the white shirt and tasseled earrings (like Chinese ‘ghost’ hair), the eyebrows, liner, and lipstick all precise — like she’s following a particular etiquette or giving a specific, coded message…but it’s all from another planet. Literally fantastic. Love it.

P.S. She is clearly a main character in whatever the story is; and what is the story? Inspiring on many levels.

I googled about it. This eye makeup was used in Anna Sui A/W 2012 and now again at Meadham Kirchhoff S/S 2013 runway shows. Interesting and not sure would it spark off a new trend.

Very Geisha-weird. Striking. Concept for the model? Oh, okay. A fashionista? Trying too hard.

“Trying to hard” just means being brave enough to take your effort to its completion. The sad thing is that most people don’t try hard enough. I am nearly sure she is a model in a show. It would be doubly cool if she just decided to do it.

Clearly a look inspired by geishas. Why do the Japanese take fashion to the next level so consistently?

Geisha, kabuki? …well, not exactly, I guess.
Probably this type of make-up should trace back to the court nobles (can you see the short and round-shaped eyebrows? that’s it).
Interestingly, it wasn’t only for women. Men in the court would also enjoy this make-up.
…Now, you see something androgynous about her, don’ t you :)

There is something enigmatical and worrying at the same time, but I like it.
