Hmm. I think I would have liked this better with matching white Russian veiling, not black, which can be barely seen here. Great idea..perfect for that one glove without its mate!

My mom's told me stories about women pinning gloves or handkerchiefs into their hair when they forgot to bring their hats to church in pre-Vatican II days. This looks like a fun take on that tradition. (and while I don't usually like trench coats–yes, I know, I'm a fashion heretic–I like the odd little cape-coat thingie, too.)

Love the dress & coat, but I would think the hat looks odd; like someone on the last train accidentally dropped their gloves on her head. The rest is fabulous, though!

I personally hate that jacket. Leighton Meester wore it on an episode of Gossip Girl and I couldn't help giggling that she looked like a box with arms that could barely rest at her sides. However, on this woman, awkwardness is beauty. She is wearing a pair of gloves on her head, for crying out loud! This woman can pull off anything.

The trench-cape is just an awful garment, I hope it will be a very short-lived trend. This girl has true natural beauty, and she is really carrying the strange glove-hat very well, but sorry: the cape just spoils the whole look.

Is that really her hat or is she at some event requiring head covering? (She does look like she's waiting for something.)

Is any one else old enough to remember when hats were required for women in Catholic churches (this is pre-Vatican II) and certain civil ceremonies? (Recall the to-do when HM Queen Elizabeth did not wear a hat to Charles and Camilla's wedding.) Back then if one had to step into a sanctuary unexpectedly it was acceptable to put your gloves on your head so it was "covered." To me is screams, "I forgot my hat!"

I wonder if the designer was inspired by some old photographs. For me the association makes it look jury-rigged rather than stylish.
