I wonder if I’m the one thinking that Mrs Dello Russo is not elegant and charming, most of the time She looks like a lion tamer…

YES to ADR’s coat and shades and shoes and everything over-the-top, but especially, I think, to the skirt, which is simply perfect: colour, shape, and length.

leaders of our time – I love the relaxed noble way the man is dressed, very handsome. Reminds me how gorgeous men are when they are a little older and experienced. The woman looks like she’s at the top of her game, anarchistic yet conformist – I absolutely love it.

Have to say, I don’t like either photo here. Nothing particularly special or exciting, they’re just photos of prominent people in the industry who Mr Schuman happens to know.

    More randomers please.

But what about the photographer behind them? I was lucky enough to catch Mr.Sartorialist himself before the Chanel show in Paris http://cairo-paris.blogspot.com/2011/10/sartorialist.html

She looks a little overdone. The accessories are too much, the sunglasses with the funny frames, the gold necklace and the ton of gold trim. George next to her looks normal.

Does anyone else hate walking on those crushed stone walkways in Paris? You get that white chalk dust over everything. I guess you could consider it very “sprezz,” but I just end up having to polish my shoes again.

I too am getting a bit weary of Ms. ADR’s designer histrionics. She may ” want tobExhale fashion” but most of the time she looks either in costume or like mutton dressed as lamb. She’s become a cartoon character, desperate to draw attention to herself. Mr. Cortina, on the other hand, always seems to own his look. That’s true style.

I’m sorry, I cannot resist: The 1st photo looks like a happily married couple; the wife overshot their clothes budget on her gew-gaws, so the guy happily wore his work clothes.

  37. Monica Lee

    October 5, 2011 at 6:03 pm

I love the black and white image with his sleeves rolled up high on his arm. This is a good look on any man, it helps with the illusion of larger biceps (yum!)

  38. Stjulienlepauvre

    October 5, 2011 at 6:07 pm

I didn’t realize at 1st that the 2nd photo was the same guy in 1st photo, but in black & white. He looks sexier in black & white.

This makes me sure I don’t understand photography. (If only my ex-daughter-in-law was still my DIL; I miss her, too)

    Wauw for the shoes!

  80. anon

    October 6, 2011 at 7:19 am

I love how he wears the two shirts together to create that neckline. It makes the v-neck so much more flattering.
I also like how he has one arm with no accessories, and two on the other instead of opting for the more obvious choice of one on both.

Don’t care too much for Anna’s style her. Too much fashion, not enough style.

    cheers!

I love seeing them together. they always look totally at ease with each other. Like they are in a private world looking out at the rest of us. Sounds a bit melodramatic, but you know…

  91. Jeannie

    October 6, 2011 at 6:37 pm

I do enjoy the verve in anna’s dress, however am I the only one who finds the opulence and extravagance of dress a bit overwhelming? The sense of fashion is there, but the good taste is not. Style should be about having discrimination in how you want to showcase your self. Perhaps I’m too much of a fan of Holly Golightly and simplicity, but these clothes wear her, and all I see is a pair of bug eyes and some rather fuzzy arms going for a walk. Too much fashion, no taste.

  92. all-in-the-silhouette

    October 7, 2011 at 12:06 am

Second what “Jeannie” says above. Perfectly put. The emperor (empress) has on too many clothes. She should take some lessons from the guy next to her.

  93. Sylvia

    October 7, 2011 at 1:00 am

I think she looks stunning. Very Spanish/Matador inspired….. Classic. I think she put this together really well! I love the color of the skirt… striking! The belt matching the coats embellishments. The white lining of the black coat matching the funky sandals. The shades are so cool with their golden glow. It’s Wild & Polished!!! I really appreciate this whole look! And the necklace?!? Hellooooooo, AWESOME!!! I do wish her lipstick was just a bit brighter :)

They both look like they’re trying very, very hard to be noticed, to look young, to be considered avant garde. The dress isn’t inspired by a Matador, she literally looks like she’s going to wrangle a bull.

  97. Annie

    October 7, 2011 at 10:31 am

They look like the opposite of the usual bird display—this time the male is dull and the female gaudy. Both seem to go too far in each approach. He needs some oomph, and she needs to edit.

Whoever she may be, in this photo she looks like she borrowed her matador-husband’s clothing. I don’t see tremendous style here- I see a fashion week mash-up.
But it certainly does make great photography ops. LOL and he looks just perf.

I love how his clothes always seem to fit just right but also how he chooses to be not too perfect, just a little bit unkempt…like the unbuckled shoes for instance. His style is masterful really.
