Great!!! I just sent you a kiss from BRazil on the other picture… So, I’ll be waiting for news. South Brazil now is so beautiful to shooting because the autumn/winter light…
Hm. Is he shirtless? I love an all-black ensemble but I feel that there is a focal point missing here, like a belt buckle in silver or the like. I love the weight of the coat’s fabric, and the contrast between the shiny and the matte parts. Jorge from WPB
Honestly, I probably shouldn’t say it but…he’s just this side of scary. Still, I like his hat. His bag and shoes match, which I usually hate but here it’s on a man and it’s not trying to coordinate with anything so I find it clever. The rest is so dark I can’t tell what’s going on. Ambivalence.
Sorry Scott… but as a long time follower/fan of your blog+work, am a bit disappointed on the last two pics… other cities (if you keep scrolling down) have appealingly styled or interesting people, but the last two NYC shots are puzzling… a sorority-styled sloppy girl in flip flops and a chimney-sweep-looking fellow… Not your best shots…
It appears that there’s some sort of image/tattoo on his chest, maybe The Joker? Anyway, the dark clothing is a very striking contrast to the obviously sunny day.
love the black on black… there’s a guy here in seattle who has a very similar style… i’ve looked for him and looked for him, but never find him when i have my camera…
Great job! really cool picture! São Paulo is an awesome place to be at, the “Avenida Paulista” is beautiful, try looking into its closest neighborhoods, you will find nice people to photograph!
I love your dark silhouettes. There were several some weeks ago where a figure was using her cloak to protect herself from the wind. This one has a similar character to that.
Hi There, 1st time leaving a comment. Love your work! So glad to know you are going to Brazil. Next time go to Ceara, it is in the Northeast of the country. It’s a beautiful estate! How do I know? I’m from there, but I am leaving in the U.S. for over 10 years. I am looking forward to see the pics*!* Have a safe trip. Bye,Bye
He may look hot to me, as warm/heat/hot that way, not that hot as handsome/hot. Anyway .. I can’t keep my eyes from his face, look like he looks into the sun, and the heat that he wishes he has a cold drink right there :P
but I like his combination of this outfit of his, maybe he wants to leave the jacket at home next time, the whole outfit looks great (but as I said: he looks burnout!)
i love nyc! it’s such the place to be and people watching is always interesting. love the hat in this picture. the background is quite unique and compliments his outfit well in a weird way!
i’m looking forward to your pics from brasil!
by the way, when would you be nyc or boston?? i would love to meet you in person!!!
Know it’s your aesthetic, but how come you rarely post photos of darker men, and on the rare occasion you do, you choose to make it so hard to see their faces, and in this case even their clothes?
Here’s hoping you photograph people of color in the Brazilian sunlight.
bad, bad timing… i am not going back to são paulo at least until august! it would be nice running into you… anyway, you should come to tokyo sometime, too. japanese street fashion, although most of the time against my own personal convictions, can often be surprisingly inspiring!
i love the back in black. maybe if he added a tone of flashing colour would make an interesting contrast. i love it, and by the way.. you should come to rio, and try to help them get dressed. because even though we’ve got our style, we are too much relaxed.

I like that he is wearing longs (my mum says they can’t be called shorts when they’re that long)
with such a subsatntial coat/jacket.
and i like how he is looking off and i wonder what he is looking at.
