It looks like Thai-fisherman-pants style to me, oversize pants with rope attached at the upper back hips (to tight it later at front like in the pic). I have several myself, also have sewn some and gave to friends.
Montauk seems quite the “it” place now. Recently spent a summer very near by. I totally understand the attraction, the feeling is light years from the city.
Btw, he certainly has a look going on…hesitant at first but I like it. The hair’s cool, the pants are crazy cool, gold necklace, bare feet–I’m feeling it all.
So very different! It looks like you found him in a field rather than the street, but I really really love it! The pants look so unbelievable comfy and his shirt is rolled up with the perfect amount of casual.
Beautiful composition. For aspiring photographers who ask Scott for his “trick”…this picture is a tutorial in how to mix and match colors ( skin and hair tone with the ground, the green background color blocking the brown pants, the shirt matching the sky, and the color pop of that netting) to create an aesthetically pleasing photograph. Our eyes love harmony in colors; there’s no trick in utilizing this, just a good deal of studying…and some talent.
Wow! This photo is a testament that one should travel and get out of their environment to see and meet men like this. Not to forget the amazing composition of the photo too. Love this one Scott. Why do you insist on making it so hard to pick a handful of my favorites photos you shoot in a month? Oy!
This is such an arresting photo that I keep coming back to it.
I’m sure now the reason being is how ‘otherworld’ the subject looks; his coarse linen pants, the amazing hair, his pure kinetic energy and of course his ‘pointy’ ears.
