Oh my God are those MBTs? I hoped I would never have to look at those again…
What is it with Fashion’s obsession with ugly shoes?
So this is the fashion formula now: take a horribly ugly piece of clothing/accessory (such as MBTs or very baggy 90′s jeans etc.), wear it with the latest prada or some statement accessories and there you have it! Style!
Nowadays more people than ever follow fashion and can afford to cheaply wear the latest trends and learn how to dress well by reading magazines, blogs etc. and so people in fashion who always need be ‘different’, edgy, above normal society and more ‘interesting’ than the average person, turn to wearing ugly clothes to get the attention because it is getting more and more difficult to stand out in fashion.
And what is your opinion on that, Scott? I would love to hear!
I kinda like the way you start off on the page and it looks interesting and then you scroll down and it is like tiny fists punching your eyeballs and then you scroll back up and everything is good again.
The socks make a good connection between the aubergine shorts and the bulky white sandals. In this sense, it works. But seriously, these sandals, especially when combined with socks like this, are just the opposite of elegant. I don’t dig this.
About 95% of russian men, different ages wear socks with ugly sandal. It looks more awful than on this photo.
These sandal with socks can be called beautiful than russian men wear in capital of Russia Moscow.
Love it! I would not wear it, but it seems comments are missing the point a bit: there is no way anyone realistically thinks this is a 70 year old pensioner. So what, he’s wearing socks and sandals, but it’s all totally tongue in cheek! Come people.
Yes. Absolutely. People here would probably have looked at Curt Cobain, seen his flannel shirt and thought: “Ah! A lumberjack!” Thats about how much sense that kind of thinking makes. Clothing has completely different meaning depending on who wears it, and no one would think this was a old person that needed comfort shoes.
I have seen this style (socks+sandals) here in paris pulled out by some of the trendiest people i know. The tradeoff is, its is offbeat but if you somehow manage to pull it out you’re a god, basically.
This asian guy is not, nowhere close. The socks are great, but the sandals are clunky, offensive and the white colour unflaterring. There’s a fine line between ironic and bad taste.
Oh and therte is no such sthing as grandma style. Many so-called grandpa stuff are incredibly popular right now, and basically style is style, be you 20 or 75. I swear my grandpa was more stylish than 99% including me.
Like art should do- it sparked a response!! And a debate! The artists intention is still up to us to poder. But I BELIEVE, this photograph is not about the clothing at all! It is about the composition, The left heavy composition is off-set by the negative space around her body most notably between her legs in her wide stance. Its mysterious – only half the woman shown. I really like the story this picture inspires. Composition and like someone else said; textures.
