Unfortunately the pants look like leggings, which with nothing over them or covering the top, is just not a great look, in my opinion. I do like the shoes, a very “in” trend right now. However, this trend will soon fade as it is not classic and seems to have little fashion longevity. It’s a very thrown together messy look, although that is also very in right now, it seems like shes trying too hard to look disheveled and relaxed and would look much better if she didn’t imitate her style after Miley Cyrus.
Matching the color of her snwedges and shirt to the building sets up the composition and makes-up for the inconsistency of the proportions.
Her attitude, of course, is just aces. But what gets me is her sculptural pose– an excellent model, preferably, nude.
I love how this look is super casual but is kicked up a notch with those edgy yet feminine sneaker wedges and of course, her fiery gypsy look. And I will always be a fan of oversized shirts. Rock on. This girl has an interesting look too, must be from somewhere exotic, like….HAWAII?!
I gotta say, her butt looks awesome in those pants and love the shirt, but those shoes and looooong nails are making me gag. But I like the expression she pairs with them, a slight challenge, like “WHAT?!”
Many of the photos on the sartorialist are a bit edgier these days and have an artistic feel. I like this phase (I also like your high fashion photos). I feel like I am seeing really personal looks. I like how her nails are captured by the camera (I would say that these and her super fitted pants/leggings are what push this look past the standard trends(or more tomboy/gamine looks) to the edgier, more over-the-top realm (but perhaps not over-the-top for her, which is what makes it interesting).
Let’s see: perfect posture… big oversized tied-up shirt… leggings worn alone (and looking well on her)… hair scraped back & up in a bun… big tote bag… theatrical nails… funky but solid shoes. My bet’s on dancer style here.
I can’t believe that anyone would have anything negative to say about this girls outfit. I think it’s simple, yes….but it would be rediculous if she was decked in couture (in the afternoon) walking around manhattan . I think her sneakers are ASHE.
heeled sneakers.. sigh…
yes i love her look i think she looks great and pulls it off well. i even love the color of the heeled sneakers.. i think they are going to stick. I live in Italy and here you find them all over the place. they all look like knock-offs of isabel marant …
@ Leah A knock off? Isabel Marant didn’t exactly invent the wedged sneaker look now did she? They have been around since the 1960′s. So lets not pretend that they are knock offs or the Isabell Marant deserves any kind of credit for them. The problem with French and Italian people is they think they invented clothing and shoes…and maybe the internet. I see more originality in non brand clothing these days then I see on the run ways truth be told. The exception being Chanel with Karl. Thats still worth every penny.
The girl looks very fresh and pretty. She looks like a ballerina to me. So classy! And the nails! Rawrrr.
