I don’t know why I think this, but if she were wearing a bikini top, I’d think…cute…or…hot! But something about the lose fitting tee that is unflattering. Her breasts don’t look great in it even though she is a sexy woman. Also, I have a feeling we’d be scandalized if she turned around, but that’s just because I’m an uptight American. Actually, I’m all for…if you go it, flaunt it…but it better look good when you do!
I like the looseness of it. I think the lovely thing about this is not caring about caring. Being comfortable and loose, showing enough to be intriguing, but not sacrificing that comfortable looseness.
I have to agree… Unless she’s swathed in Cavalli from the hip down, I don’t really want to see that much naked woman here… the translation comes across as “skinny is fashion!” Where are my curvy ladies SS?
Yup. Emperor’s new clothes effect. But then men will love the view? Or just also shudder? Well, lets open our mind: it’s on the beach, so whatever, it’s a fine bikini bottom. Maybe it’s just not something relevant for a fashion blog.
i like the sunglasses. the rest of the outfit…not stylish. since when is wearing an 20 year old top, which now is just too short and a bikini bottom an outfit. and i don´t like that bikini bottom, it looks just wrong, can´t tell why… just wrong.
sorry for my english…ain´t from america or england
It’s just super unkind to criticize a person’s body in a forum like this! I suspect that it seems to be fair game because she’s beautiful, and thus to some in a category like “model” that becomes a subject of public speculation and criticism…but it’s just sort of shocking to me that anyone would post a comment criticizing someone’s body *type* — which we can’t control a bit — here. Tatoos, shoes, even hairstyle or how much skin a person is showing…fine. But body type? Be kind.
Why are people critiquing her body? I truly do not understand the ‘if she turned around we’d be scandalized’ comments. Pearl clutchers, the lot of you.
To be jealous is so un-chic, and to be offended at the sight of a nearly nude body (regardless of shape/size…) NEAR A BEACH is extremely puritanical, downright ridiculous and betrays someone possessing a sour disposition severely lacking any sense of joy de vivre.
Exactly! I was about to write the same thing: so many rules, so much puritanism, jealousy, self rightness so little freedom. Thank you!
How can someone comment on the way THEY would have worn it? Talk about if it’s appropriate or not. Just like my grandmother. Thank god we can still move forward!
She’s at the beach, why wouldnt she wear a bikini? You guys all need to see Rottnest Island, off the coast of Western Australia. There are no cars on the island and it is a holiday destination, so in summer ALL shapes, sizes and ages are wearing their bathers on bikes and no one is scandalised.
What I like about your posts is seeing the courage that people have to wear what they want. I’m not searching for what “looks good” and what “does not”. To me this is not important (although I have my own preferences). It is the variety, freedom of expression, and boldness, which I have great respect for.
She got a lot of strong comments, mostly negative, and I suspect because of the bad combo of the white top with the little frilly black pants. Makes her look super skinny, and that is always a turnoff.
I like how she takes a typical level of exhibitionism up a notch or two past most people but still maintains enough style to appear here on The Sartorialist. My god, if I was a girl I would SO do this.
A carefree, in-your-face level of summer attire that SCREAMS sexy.
