Now this kicks ass. Is that suit black or chocolate? The pinstripe works very well on his frame. The silhouette slightly de-emphasizes (is that even a word?) the arms but given the slim trousers, it works together very well.
Wow, what a great look. Sometimes the bold pinstripes can be too much but it looks great here on the wool suit. But I think overall, the fit of the suit and the great brown shoes are what makes this pop.
Nice suit and shoes – they fit quite well. However, the overall look is somehow boring, the guy should have added some color, e.g. paisley handkerchief. In any event, a big watch is never appropriate and will (hoepfully) never be considered classy.
Beautiful fit and the stripes really do their magic on a pretty short guy. The shoes elegantly frame the suit. I don’t know if it’s the weather but here in Stockholm most people simply murder their suits with large, bulky shoes.
He always looks great and this is no exception. I like the slimmer trouser cut and it looks good even though his upper body isnt skinny. The pinstripes help lengthen his look as well. The proportions look good and the dark brown shoes are a nice highlight.
Now there’s a man who screams exclusivity and unattainability with his entire persona. And yet you’d just want to snuggle against him. Talking of eternal mysteries. Redundant to say how sharp he looks.
I really like the look (although if I were to be nit-picky I’d say he isn’t showing enough cuff and his left shoulder seems to have a bit of excess fabric?? But those are very minor quibbles indeed.)
Having both plain and distinctly stiped stuits, I can attest to how much more self-confidence is needed to wear the stripes … so well done!
The one thing I’m curious about is what appears to be at least a 3″ cuff on his trousers. The tailors and stylists I consult usually encourage plain bottoms on (presumably he is wearing) flat-front trousers, and IF cuffs, about 1.5″ or 1.75″ at the most. Now, maybe this fellow’s cuffs are the latest ‘in thing’ and I’m just in a fashion backwater, or maybe he’s doing his own individual thing, but hopefully someone out there can satisfy my curiosity about the massive cuff question … I’m not saying his look is bad; it’s fine. I just want to know if I’m looking at an individual quirk or part of a trend.
I love the way it fits him. But the cut on his shoulder is a little off. The sleeve kind of puffs out a little. But like every thing else. I probably would have went with a different tie, but that is not bad, it’s subtle.
Too much pocket square, not enough shirt cuff, trying hard…..not quite sold. Something about it does not look authentic….like it is someone else’s look perhaps but not quite his own? I can’t put my finger on it. . . . .the window shots you’ve shown must have been put together by the dashing Oliver you occassionally picture?
Pretty cool. Hard to tell what color and fabric the suit is. Brown or blue flannel or a worsted. It looks very good on this guy who is presumably Italian so who should be surprised. If the suit brown flannel I would have chosen a sleek black shoe.
This is a well dressed man! I dont mean to deviate, but isn’t Lee Goldberg, frm ch 7 eyewitness news, the best dressed news man on tv with his perfectly taillored suits? Just curious…am i the only one who noticed?
The suit has three buttons, it’s just rolled to the second button such that you don’t see the top button. A beautiful lapel roll and a classic Italian look. One would know this suit is Attolini/Vacca even if you cropped out his face.
And the cuffs on his pants are wonderful. Most American men get their cuffs way too skimpy. Don’t listen to the department store alterations “tailor”!!! 1.75″ should be the minimum and 2″ is ideal – also helps the pants hang better since there’s a little more weight around your ankle.
Suit is too pimped out in stripes …he would bust a seam if he bent over… But what a gorgeous man! Great smile, well-groomed, and confident. Would like him in a more generous cut, solid color suit and a tie with some flair.
In Stockholm most men use bulky shoes simply because they have no taste! Nothing is as elegant as mens shoes with thin soles, a concept this man fully grasps! The brown shoes work very well at day, and surprisingly good with the suit.
Overall, great fit, great look, but boring tie. Also, I think you shot him in the same outfit, but with different shoes once before. Would be nice to have done a comparison of the two just to see the effect of different shoes. Likely not earth shattering, but just to give people a look at what difference a subtle change can make. Thanks!
