Wicked lil’ hipster punks! I love their attitudes.. but their skimpiness is overwhelming sometimes.. But hey “ if you’ve got it flaunt it” might be their motto. It looks great… young and sassy.. I could see him at the misshapes party any given Saturday.
i think he’s lovely; if he were wearing a sandal (even omigod flipflops!) he’d look like something out of a visconti film — the shirt might be a little too ‘intentional’ (stringy, sleeveless?) but he brings to mind those people you see anywhere (on a train, in the bustle of union square) who are so beautiful you can’t believe someone is not monitoring their every move, you know??
yeah, even though he’s wearing currently-trendy stripes, there is something about the way his look comes together that is absolutely timeless.
i’m guessing the sartorialist called him dior boy because he’s channeling the general dior homme aura. he seems like he might be the type of boy hedi slimane would pluck off the sidewalk and cart away to feature in his next show/have has his next muse/etc.
It’s a bit contrived but I’ll admit, I rather like the slim jeans paired with a definitively trendy shoe – I will say, however, I still have yet to buy into the ghastly, garish & oversized sneaker fetish. I doubt I ever will.
All the same, in the Southern California vernacular, “I’d hit it.”
Am I totally dating myself by saying my first thought was to hum along, “do you really want to hurt me….do you really want to make me cry…..?”
Okay, no dreads so it’s not Boy George redux. What works, I think, is his stance in the photograph, the little bit of stubble or whatever that facial hair he’s sporting is and the clingy, drapiness of the black and white striped shirt. And the skin is beautiful….
