If that is indeed her bike, I would worry a little about the skirt in the chain… and in general I'm not crazy about all the trailing loose wispiness of this look. It feels slightly boho from another time/place. That said, this is a pretty, rosy photo! By the way, do Mr. Sartorialist's subjects get a copy of their photos? I can imagine this woman, for example, being ECSTATIC to own this one.
Yes Couldn't agree more with SabinePsynopsis. I first thought was…what a shot from last year? Bear arms, sun and a fab summer dress? Its freezing in the UK. But hey lovely to be able to look forward what to come with this lovely inspiring picture!!!!
What I enjoy most is how the grommets on her bag bring out the beads/charms of her necklace as well as the similarly linear detailing on her shoes and blouse. Patterns in such regularity do well to contrast with the organic florals.
Beautiful beautiful shot — love the brick wall, her smile and necklace. Her style so natural and effortless. All the colors harmonize so well. Who would have thought of pairing that top with that skirt? A real beauty — thank you for an amazing photo and color moment.
Whilst many of the pictures here are interesting and chic very few of the posts here are 'alluring'.This shot captures this gorgeous young woman's attractiveness in a fabulous way. For me it is about conveying her sense of warmth and humanity which she also expresses sartorially.having read the comments that others have made i know these are sentiments shared by others. Scott you are on to something here and this pic could stand with the best of Bill Cunningham 's work.
The pattern on that long dress is to die for and those indian theme shoes, loves it! personally i would of liked to see the dress WITHOUT that blue/white striped shirt or sweater covering the dress… i wonder how tall is she ? only tall people can pull off long dresses, & she has a great smile; nice shot.
This reminds me a lot of my roommate's style. The not quite ankle-length skirt…the flats..the floral pattern…though my roommate has more of an edge to her style. nevertheless she looks so comfortable and chic. gorgeous hair.
I go to Indiana University and the apparel program here is getting bigger every year! You are such an inspiration to all of us. Sometimes Dr. Rowold mentions you in class, and as I sat in a fashion history class I couldn't help but think someone is going to be sitting in the same desk 50 years from now learning about you.
Come back and take some Hoosier shots sometime ;). There are fashionistas among all the black leggings and sorority shirts…
i love the texture of the bricks and the colors all blend with her skin and bag and skirt. i think the background makes her outfit and the bike is a great graphic element to this composition. love it & love her smile
