I love this shot!
This guy reminds me a=of a detective in that coat with the hat and the extra touch of that beard.
He does look very chic though.
Love it! http://untrucoudeux.wordpress.com/
It feels like this man wants so badly not to dress like everyone else, that he ends up blending in perfectly. This is what we in San Francisco would call, “The Penultimate Hipster.”
It’s intriguing why 80% of The Sartorialist’s models think it’s trendy? cool? upscale? to pose with a smart-device in their hands. I’m sure someone has commented about that before, because it is so obvious.
I, however, find it hedious, a phony statement about their busy modern lives, as if saying “I’m so engaged in my communication with someone else, that I have no time to live the moment of posing for The Sartorialist”. I wish they knew how awesome people look when they are looking at your camera or simply standing there, with no insecurities that make them hold on to an i-phone.
The Poet we can find in St Germain des Pres in Paris, going to the Cafe de Flore and having a coffee over conversation with his fellow artists.
Perfect style.
(The i-phone replacing the cigarette ?)
It takes guts to wear clothes in this condition/way. However, this man clearly wears it comfortably. This is what separates fashion and style. People who care less, stands out in the crowd…
Somehow, this immediately reminded me of the Italian version of Wild West… the hat, the coat, the beard, the dark, rather worn-out stylishness of it. He is armed with a mobile phone these days, that’s all… :-)
