George always looks great. I hate the phrase “classic with a twist,” but George seems to be a master at that.
Here he wears a very classic DB from Anderson & Sheppard – but insisted on covered buttons for the jacket.
Such a small detail, but it completely changes the feel of the look – more like Men’s Couture.

The return of Miami Vice? The only aspect I don't like about the ensemble is the turned up collar. Everything else seems to work.

Fantastic.
The covered buttons give a formal feel but with the white trousers and grandpa collar shirt, we're hitting casual with touch of COOL.
Sart, are you planning a trip to Stockholm for your book signing or was that it?

I like it. To me, this is a classic without a twist. The twist has been removed! The covered buttons make this ultra clean and minimal. Always better (to my eye anyway).

"Classic with a twist" is where it's at.
His jacket is like a second skin on him.
Such sartorial beauty. The play of contrasts
is so tactful. DB jacket with henly neck, dark blue and white. The covered buttons that subdue the flash of DB jacket.
Same goes to the girl in the "Camera Crush" post.

Not my thing, I'm too old and not as good looking, but it's hard to deny he looks very good. But then he'd look good in most things and it's hard not to wonder if that A & S jacket wouldn't look even better with the pants it goes with and a regular shirt. I suppose I'm asking the question is he trying to hard?…..Still he looks great.

while he IS a handsome man, and i agree that the covered buttons are an inspired idea, it does look like he's trying too hard, especially with the popped collar and the hand in the pocket. i do like the white pocket square with this outfit.

I'm torn here, in my opinion a double breasted flat collar should not be upturned. But, I don't think he would be pulling off the "international playboy" (to quote "saint stephen" (and Morrissey)) look so well if it wasn't.

Covered buttons in a double breasted midnight blue?
That's not half of a dinner jacket he's wearing is it?

Unlike many who've spoken before me, I find the half turned jacket collar an element of inspiration. If he had turned up the collar more, the lapel would be turned too, which would damage the look of the jacket. He gives me ideas for dressing down a formal blazer. (Another is to leave one button undone.)
What I don't like too much – although George is a very good-looking guy – is that his pants look too white and too flimsy for this ensemble. I noticed that George likes to wear cotton-looking pants; sometimes they lack the right weight and shape and don't hang beautifully enough.
Back to the whiteness of the pants. I have a feeling that if I see him moving around in this outfit, my eyes would feel a slight sting at the too-strong contrast between the blue and white.

Good look and yep, it is classic with a twist. I don't care about the fabric covered buttons either way to be honest. I'd like it a whole lot better with the collar down.

I've seen him looking sharp in blue and white in another picture of yours.
Some people have said the look here is contrived (collar, cigarette, shades), but it makes for a great photograph.
I'd like to see a cool wristwatch peeking out from the cuff (Omega Seamaster, maybe).

Since so much of fashion is recycled, I really think it's the little details that make it fresh and new. Buttons are one of those details.

I like the total look! specially the t-shirt with buttons, it is the most important touch. there is not detail showing more than other, but what makes me scared is to see him without the blasier. The look can change into something not really nice without it.
