On the Street……Color Story, Sydney

I don’t know what this means from a fashion perspective, but looking at the crazy confluence of colors alone is totally inspirational to me.

I’m so disappointed. I love your blog but you post this and only two measly images from Melbourne (the fashion capital of Oz)??? What’s going on? I’ve lived in both cities and know there so much to be inspired by in each but you wouldn’t know through your eyes.

I love a casual dress with sneakers. So cool.
Though in an urban setting, this picture reminds me of a garden with all of its colors and light.

The colours are wonderful. Love the shoes with the dress but oh-the-dress. I believe clothes should fit right, even if they are meant to be laid back and relaxed. If it was tapered at the waist just a little bit more…

Off Topic… There’s something about the way the sun hits the subject in each photo, makes the sky a perfect hue of blue with a whisper of a cloud…I just might have to visit!!!!

sorry to disagree, but that is not a crazy confluence of color … that is life and it is beautiful!

thanks for all the wonderful inspiration shown through your efforts and photos and the personal style shared by the people in your photos.

the kind of thing I tack to my inspiration board over my workspace.. Thanks!!

p.s. I looked for you in Florence this past week! Saw so many stylish Florentines and took so many mental pictures (plus a few sneaky actual ones)

i love this photo – relaxed Sydney!
this look represents the city I know and love… a timless look, unique in that its not ‘high-end’ designer – she looks comfortable, content and that smile! amazing!

As a former New Yorker now living in Sydney; It IS difficult to find fashion related inspiration here. It’s either “tarty” and unwearable (Sass and Bide), or So entirely trend driven that it’s out of style before the model leaves the catwalk. I wish I saw more women here like the one in this photo. She looks effortlessly chic and completely devoid of all the extraneous “bells, whistles, and sequins” that are so over-wrought in this city. Now Melbourne is a different story…..

The colors really are something special. She doesn’t really stand out, which is not an insult. Each major element is necessary for the picture to work. The vases, the girl, the table cloth, the tents… It’s all necessary and all so engaging to the eye.

    P.S.

    Those shoes are sweet.

Wow, I haven’t missed home so much before! This image encapsulates Australia, from the weave of the bag to the coloured glass vases. So fresh.

With reference to Leah’s comment, for me, personal style is much more important than fashion. It’s also much more difficult to achieve, but this woman definitely has it.

Wow, what a gorgeous picture to start my day. I agree with you, totally inspiring combination of colors, particularly the rich purple and blue. This is a shot that I wouldn’t have noticed if I encountered it on the street myself.
