Carine is a fashion legend! Her personal style is always a statement, so immediately recognizable but original. She combines natural elegance with edgy fashion sensibility.
Wow — I just finally “got” the legendary Carine Roitfeld. Thank you for posting a photo of her that really SHOWS why she has been (and obviously still is) such a fashion muse/style diva. Very very few human beings on the planet can produce the sort of visual charisma captured here…
What’s especially charming, and chic: the little girl quality of the head. How does she do that, at her age?!
Everything is lovely but the shoes. Why do women wear shoes like this? I really do think it looks cheesy and unflattering to wear such high skinny heels. Heels like this suck the punk and cool out of any outfit. Make it stop.
Hm. She looks very fit, all muscle, and thats perfect. After seeing all those thin people in the vintage photo, its good to see some modern women stay fit. And the shoes don’t look uncomfortable, not for a lady who is used to wearing shoes. I adore heels what aren’t all straps like that, they are always comfortable. I certainly would LOVE to wear them, and so would most any lady, I think.
Ouch - Where's the Bag with Sensible Shoes (inside)?

She looks fabulous. The legs and the shoes! What we would all give to be her.
But she lacks sense. We should all have a pair of back-up, sensible shoes when (if) venturing out in those vertiginous lovelies. Like that lady with the Louboutins (sure looked like it) and the shaven head just a few pics ago.
wouahh not bad for her age, she is perfect..not easy to wear these heels if you haven’t got the legs for it!!vive Carine at least she gives a good representation of France……
She is so elegant! She looks effortlessly cool without being faddish. The shoes might last a couple of seasons, but the skirt and top will be stylish for many years. Her hair and makeup is timeless. Well done!
Yes, it is a lovely image, and yes, the shoes are great, but the ‘fashion accessory’ I first notice is her painful thinness… it is images like this that glorify such unhealthy ideals in young woman and so for that I have mixed feeling about this picture.
Of course it is her : she has this very caracteristic way of walking, a bit pigeon-toed, and her usual unhappy face. She always made me feel uncompfortable. She has a real class but style isn’t every thing.
