We are in the transition period of Winter/Spring,  the weather changes by the hour.

It seems the smart choices are all based on dressing in mixed season layers.

Can’t get on board with the socks but the layers are a go… Mid season dressing is a mare

you are kidding, right!? Eyecatching maybe, but she looks like she’s wearing 2 old towels around her waist, some orthopedic sandals, and a coat made up of some curtain and/or carpet samples rejected by the Motel 6 on the off ramp somewhere just outside Des Moines….still, as long as you think it’s stylish! Party on Scott…you are the best photographer out there. Keeps getting better and better!

      Hilarious critique and completely apt.

And yes, Scott, you are a terrific photographer.

So happy to see I’m not the only one finding this outfit atrocious. This girls looks lovely, why hide such nice features under a tent? Oh well, youth….
I did wear some pretty atrocious stuff at this age too, thinking it was avant- garde when it was just a weird trend. Seems the weird trend of this season is oversize anything.

this so-called style is a pain in the neck. the outfit has nothing beautiful: no proportion, no shape.., not to talk about the totally unsexy terry cloth something. i find it more home ~ than street style, if at all. of course, i am not talking about the quality of your photo.

The coat is great, the rest is an eyesore. Although the sandals may be nice in a different combination.
Don’t get me started on the dress/skirt… just awful.
    Sorry about the harsh words.

Ok, fantastic coat! However i would prefer to see it paired with dark denim (skinny or flare either would be fine) and perhaps some stan smiths… Is it a deliberate outfit or just a great coat thrown hastily over a towel and shoes slipped on at the front door, leftover from the previous nights outfit? I wonder what time of day this snap is taken, it no doubt is a great one the way it captures the energy of the city and all the texture and colour !

Although I like the coat very much, I am increasingly disappointed when scrolling down lately and seeing the horrendous footwear choices of your subject matters. Does everyone wear socks with their sandals, heels, orthopedic gym shoes, etc? And agree with the commenter about the skirt looking like a couple of flimsy towels.

    @shirley dee

I always find it amusing how some people in the comments get so offended and in a lather about how someone else chooses to dress / express themselves. Not your style? Fine, but this world would be a pretty boring place if everyone dressed according to what’s accepted as cool or in vogue.

    Settle down.

The coat is cool, and the rest is interesting. At least she isn’t wearing skinny dark denim. Anything is better then that. And I love the shoes with the socks. I agree with James. it is so funny that people take something that is not the typical fashion choice to be some sort of insult to them. Don’t like it? Don’t wear it. You still learn something. Frothing at the mouth about it just makes you look foolish.

I agree with the comment that it would be a boring old world if we all dressed the same, however everyone posting here over 25yrs old will know that in 5yrs time (possibly/probabley next season) this young lady will look back at this picture and wonder OMG what was I thinking!!!!!!

The coat is interesting. We can’t see enough of the skirt (& what goes with it) to really get a sense of it–it might be part of a nicely cut summery dress that just looks odd juxtaposed with the coat, or it may in fact be as flimsy & awkward as it looks. In any case, the combination is just not working.

Just an observation … that every positive comment here is just someone pushing/linking to their blog. The “honest” comments are the rest.

    She looks great!

I am crazy about those shoes! I have had a pair for 2 years and I have just lived in them.

They are so comfortable and chic. People chase me down all the time, you can wear them with anything and the best part you is you never feel stupid for wearing impractical shoes.
