I agree HG. It’s the girl’s beauty that is eye-catching. She is so very beautiful that her attempt to disguise it from head to toe with shapeless blandness is unsuccessful.
Love the loose fit and the fab black shoes. Those super tight outfits that can be seen everywhere bore me sooo much. It is not the tighter the better …
its so nice to see that the original street-style artist continues to post real street style and not exclusively models and celebrities. Really love it always have…
Loving this. From the city to the luggage and back to the clothing, this picture in it’s entirety reminds me of little Natalie Portman in The Professional.
Has she been previously photographed in a furry hat, a green jacket & low boots during an NYC winter & a lot of admirable attitude . . . have to find that photo to compare.
My head just exploded. Everything about this photo is interesting. What’s in her bags? Where is she going? What does her hair look like under that beanie? What’s happening behind her? What’s on that neon pink flyer?
Interesting that she has all her hair covered while in clothes that hides her feminine appeal yet still attractive. Makes me curious what if she had pulled her hat back just a bit to show a glimpse of her hair…
with the workmen in the background, she looks like a modern version of those 1940s working women that were pictured in denim overalls and head scarves– they alwyas looked so strong and independent and proud.
the critical comments above (about the clothes being shapeless and manly) make no sense to me at all. in this context, the clothes are not for displaying the body but for evoking a sense of possibility and adventure and comfort and ruggedness– how could any of those things not be considered beautiful? a strong woman is ALWAYS a sexy woman.
Looking at the gentlemen in the backgroundm this photo could do double-duty as part of a a feature: “If You’re Thinking About – Orange Reflective Vests.” Heh.
This look is amazing — People clearly don’t understand how much STYLE is really in this image. The bag on the left has to be a vintage Dior and the one on the right looks a lot like the Celine bags even if it obviously is not. Its really interesting that she is so androgynous — those pants are great. Its street style photography! She is on the street and has a lot of style…!
I love the hat, love the sweeter. Love the boots. But I can’t help but feel like she needs to yank those trousers up before they fall around her ankles. I have a pair of jeans just like that, and thats what i always have to do myself. So…I dunno. Yes and NO. I definitely like the very feminine, but very andro at the same time vibe.
i just felt the need to comment, i don’t even know what to say though! it’s just, this look is so amazing in an understated way! the beanie, the jeans, that sweater, the shoes…perfect somehow. and also it remidns me of Harry Styles haha.
I think you have enough photos of the Celine Luggage Tote to do a “If you’re thinking about Celine” Tribute. I’m completely enamoured by this bag and it had my complete devotion…., until I saw Dries’ spring collection…..
totally love the look, especially the cut of the jeans/how the jeans fit. it is very difficult for a woman to find a fit like this. Jeans from ladies dpt won’t do all being slim, those cut for men are intended for small gent butts. however the truth is, 90% of all clothes i purchased last year i picked in gent dpt. they just do better clothes for you.
This is still one of my favourites, not because of your outfit …but more the total scene. As she is leaving her partner(perhaps because of cheating) and looking kinda lost. Her world stops, however NY lives on ….visualized by those streetworkers. Awesome schot Scott! Saw it also in Closer, however I prefer this one over that cropped version in the book.
Great photo, and we can read so many things into her “story,” but this is just a terrible outfit. The sweater is lovely, but the jeans, the hat, and the shoes don’t work on her or with each other at all.
