I have never liked or been comfortable with New York. I am open now that I am older to be curious about New York. Your photos, like this one, awakens a curiousity.
Her hair great! Very jealous. And lovely natural red lips. In my mirror I look like this, and by the time I've closed the door it looks like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards.
so 80's…backlit halo blonde on black looks lovely and fresh in this image, but the reality of eating bus fumes on a bike in soho is nothing short of gritty and disgusting.
The look of confidence and self assurance is very attractive. Plus women on bicycles are always a focal point for myself. Another beautiful portrait as always.
Your photos inspire me to question everyday; would my outfit be worthy of The Sartorialist's lens? It just reminds me to take pride that what I wear tells a story to those I surround myself with, and I want that story to be interesting!
I loved NY when I visited those two times. This is such a beautiful NY moment too, the woman in absolutely chic clothes but comfortable and riding her bike.
Please oh PLEASE tell me you photographed the beard (and man) behind her? How fab! Another bike I see? They are quite literally everywhere now, and i couldn't be happier about it! Yet again, sheer beauty. :) http://fashionregardless.blogspot.com/
I believe this lovely young lady was photographed before by you, Scott! About a year ago, sitting on the grass in new york, reading a book! The bicycle saddle is I believe a Brooks , real leather, visible in that previous photo. She's so pretty, and casually elegant! Love her!
The look seems very '80s – not in any obvious way but the hairdo, the sunglasses, the roomy top that folds over the skirt/pants, and even the watch – reminiscent of the looks from the 80's. The rugby stripe shirt on the person in the foreground – that's also a look from the '80s.
About the photo. I like the brown and black color combination throughout.
I just discovered your blog, I love the photos – you capture beauty in each portrait; but it's a different type of beauty each time. Each photo has a hint of mystery, too.
The necklaces are actually what make this look. Otherwise, she's just kinda PTA-ish with better than average hair. The necklaces bring it up that critical notch.
Note the English Brooks leather saddle on the bike. These saddle have become quite "hip" for with urban riders. One might say it's an accent piece for the bike.
