the bold red, flirty shoe with the non-chalant, almost masculine belt with the sweet innocence of the dress is a perfect mix for me. i adore this look!
I LOVE everything about this outfit except for the belt! It seems that the dress already provides a break with the horizontal lacy strip. I love how she combined the textures of the smooth fabric of the dress, the luxury of the fur bag (vintage?) and the impulse of the red heels. More than anything, she looks happy and that is what counts! Jorge from WPB
on a serious note, the color of her shoes makes her outfit. she has a hint of dorothy from "the wizard of oz." i don't think we're in kansas anymore, but her dress has a little prairie aspect to it.
I don't get it. Why the belt? So…random, no? I do love the shoes AND the dress AND the bag – and even the belt, with something else – but not all together.
A sloe-eyed beauty with glamour; love the feminine, modern feel cinched by the belt and topped with cherry heels. Sensuous, I can even smell her cigarette…
I'm surprised about this shot. As beautiful as her dress is and her shoes..it looks like he caught her with her eyes half shut and it bothers me that the tip of her shoe didn't make it into the frame.
What is this obsession with belting everything? Is she planning on doing some weight lifting? The shoes do look heavy! I love the dress, the shoes and the bag; if she had to tie something around her waist I'd have suggested she use a long red silk ribbon the same colour as the shoes…the long ends would have fluttered against the skirt as she walked. Or she could have skipped the belt thing for a large red bead necklace that ended half way down the skirt. I should probably get dressed now and pretend I have a life!
Yes, absolutely Love the masculine belt with the ultra feminine dress. The colour palette – dove grey tone of the dress, neutral tone of the bag and brown belt are great together but the red shoes really set the whole thing off beautifully. Lovely, lovely.
the outfit is great, but i have to ask when was this picture taken? because the weather is horrible the last couple of days, it is too cold for an outfit like this…
I have been in the situation myself of wanting to belt something that was cut under the bust but never could figure out if it looked right. It looks great doesn't it! It adds real interest to the dress.
The belt just jumps out as so wrong to me. I do think the dress is very night gown-y and it looks like she got up late, left on her night clothes and stuck the accessories on – didn't look in the mirror!! – and left the house. She's really pretty though, and looks happy with herself. Most important.
The leather belt is a nice touch! The red pop of the shoes brings the outfit to life. Overall, her ensemble partners well with her soft and feminine demeanor.
Something very scandalous about the look: mussed-up hair, a hint of lingerie in the lace detailing at the cleavage, red peep-toe platform shoes, a half-smoked cigarette, the carelessly tied belt, wrinkles across the dress and even the clutch carelessly stuffed under her arm. None very risque on its own, but combined, they evoke transgression. As a moment, it looks great. As fashion, I am a little less sure. It is, as Mr. Schuman often says, inspiring, at the very least.
This is one of my favorite posts. I love the whole look. The delicate whimsy of the dress roughend up with belt and then taken to new heights with the shoes. This picture is just wonderful.
this is a really nice outfit, but why is it still summer in Paris? Winter is ante portas in the northern hemisphere and I need some inspiration for my wardrobe!!!! So, PLEASE, post some dresses-according-to-the-weather outfits!
Everything's adorable, but she needs a bra. It goes way too close to looking like she's walking around in a boudoir without it — especially with the "boyfriend" belt.
She looks wonderful, her hair is just a dream, and that smile..!!! I love the shoes, but the rest doesn't work at all. I get the belt in a way, cos without it, the dress would look like a nightgown, and she would look like walking home from "work" 3am. A bit scandalous, a bit whimsy, but cute anyway.
What I absolutely love about this is the belt! Her attitude is exemplified by the belt. It totally doesn't go – it's vintage and it's probably a men's belt cos it is so long but yet with her beauty and confidence it just works.
The colour and shapoe of this dress is so feminine and the small belt and red shoes add a quirky and more edgey look, making the outfie soo much more grown up.

Those shoes are fabulous! I'd have to do my own take on Dorothy from Wizard of Oz in those shoes for Halloween! I love the whole look and the sweet smile is the finishing touch!
I actually don’t think the belt does anything for the outfit but the choice of colors is interesting and it works great in this case. I probably wouldn’t have thought of pairing red pumps with this dress. I’d choose a different bag though.
