one of the downsides to Spring's arrival is that we'll lose these great trench coats. at least the pea coat will suffice 'til Summer arrives in two months.
Isn't the woman in the first picture one that you photographed in the shrunken JCrew boys fisherman's sweater with a flouncy skirt that caused a frenzy of sweater-seekers? She looks familiar…
There's a bit more to it than that. She epitomises the Sartorialist ethic – really growing older gracefully. nd importantly – Insouciant! And of course in motion – somewhere to go! So it's a really lovely change from the static portrait. My fave picture to date !!
It seems like most folks prefer the red pants, but the first girl is just captivating. We can get Reese Witherspoon to play her in the movie about her life story….
Wearing a coat and no socks – that's courageous – I'd be sick the next day!…But in Germany we say: if you want to be beautiful, you have to suffer… ;-)
I have no idea why, but I am in a real red kick now -, a couple of weeks ago, painted my toe nails a dark red, just got a red, rather sexy pencil skirt, will purchase next a red satin trench coat and I seem to slow down to stare at red cropped pants in catalogs and in stores for a little while now… this convinces me! And I love both the black shoes, as well!
Both outfits are great! I love the coat in the first photo and would like to see more of this silhouette as an alternative to the belted trench. And the second photo is a wonderful example of the pairing of red and camel that's everywhere right now. Lovely with the black sandals!
The second pic is great! Her shoes, red pants and camel jacket are perfect!
BUT I can't stand these pics of women who are obviously uncomfortable in wearing insanely tall shoes/boots! SERIOUSLY, I am an aesthete, a beauty junkie, but I just CAN'T take these pics of torture anymore. NO matter how stylish it seems, women wearing HIGH HEELS are for the most part very uncomfortable NOT TO MENTION the job they do on your legs !
I love the first picture so much! Are those Louboutins on the first womans feet? I also love the khaki trench with the hounds tooth patterned skirt peaking from underneath. Check out my trendy blog! http://thetrendydwarf.blogspot.com/
Is it really that warm in NYC right now, so you can wear no socks? Well anyway, I just LOVE the second picture, i like it as she is movieng, not standing and posing, a woman i motion. I like that. I also love her outfit, I want a pair of red cropped pants for the spring and summer. The coat is wonderful and she looks so pretty and beautiful. The girl in the first pic is cute and lovely too, but her coat could have been ironed a bit :) The outfit is totally cool, but those heels will kill her feet. Thank you, such great pictures again!
the second photo has such information in it… the man checking his cell, the woman waiting at the curb, the cop walking the beat, the gate by a closed store, the graffitti spray painted on the brick wall…and in the forefront is a brave woman..wearing sandals with colourful trousers and handbag.
That last outfit is EVERYTHING I want and more. I am a coat person. Some people are shoe people, bag people, etc. I am a COAT person, and that coat is orgasmically wonderful. Plus the red pants and shoes…ugh, brilliant!
Agreed with Anonymous 8:46. (although it's okay to use your own identity if you're saying something critical)
photo #1 is not an attractive look. It's cruel for adults to continue to let young women think this is okay. Let's check back with this woman in 20 years and see how her feet are doing.
The beautiful woman in red pants is Meredith Melling-Burke, an editor in US Vogue. Her wonderful coat is 3.1 Phillip Lim, I know as I have the same in black :) just love the coat, wish I could find it in camel too!
Whoah red pants! Makes me wanna get a pair now…then again not. Looks right on the small pretty lass, would look wrong on a amazon just as me. Love the beading detail she wore under the lovely camel.
