Looks like an extra in a Leni Riefenstahl movie. Very ’30s deutsche. Also, a bit retro 1985. She does have nice shoulders and legs, I must say, and the lighting and color are nice and crisp.
Wow. I love the black and red clothes, “Anger” in the background and her solemn expression contrasted with the bright sunlight. And the fact that the wall is black and red makes it even better! Great photograph!
oh I think this is not that much about her clothes. I love the composition of the photo.
It´s dominated by squares! 3 red squares on the left, many small ones in the window, then the two white stripes according to the two black stripes of her suspenders… may be the partition of the golden cut, plus the cut word “anger” which could also be the name of the small person ( her shadow) that is walking away on the ground… and the one white stripe that is leading over her body towards the letters… black, white and red as main colours… very very inspiring, very well done, very much thank you!!!
She looks like she walked straight out of 1984 (in a good way!). I love the mini-suspender dress and the motorcycle boots. The tube top, though, is a little much, but she pulls it off. Oh, and NICE gams!
I love how the red and black returns in the picture, but I do not like her outfit. I think people wearing only American Apparel clothing (OK there ARE exceptions, don’t get me wrong) but most of the time they look so plain and totally not original.
Interesting…I think I may just like this. Not for me of course but I love her boots, appreciate her adrogynous hair and face, her fierce pose and the DANGER/ANGER colours. It’s different.
I bet she’s rocking a really cool cold weather look right now. You should hunt her down!
what a babe, and it’s all from american apparel! she’s wearing the thick knit jersey short-alls and the cotton spandex jersey strapless ruched bodysuit. judging by her angry look she probably works there as well. i love that store!
This look and its accompanying background gave you an opportunitiy for another brilliant photo, aside from that there is little of interest, another costume wearer. She may be having great fun with it- impossible to tell, but it looks too self-conscious to be much fun.
no one has said anything about the hair?! red, short and brave. while this look could look cheap and trashy, it looks more artsy and edgy. and as someone above said, more like DANGER!
if I had to judge where to be for the rest of my life from this photo or the one below, I'd be on the next plane to Rio! great photos! how u match the people to their surroundings, & in this case the surrounding wording…wow!
The hair is great, I think she is one of the few people who can pull it off. The same can be said about the clothes too. But isn’t she freezing? its def winter in nyc!!!
this picture is more than fashion only … Every detail is right, right colours – the “anger” sign – I also like how her shadow “lies” on the floor…. It’s like she just killed it…
Such a clever clever shot. I love that there are exactly 3 colors in the photo; I love that her arm makes danger into anger (and she really does look angry), I love that it is all so rectilinear, and I LOVE that she is so red directly above green and yellow from the beach! You’ve made a traffic signal. I have so enjoyed your Rio photos; we have snow in the forecast in my part of the world; I haven’t seen my own knees outside of the shower for at least 2 weeks!
Your photos always inspire – even when the clothes don’t quite…
A very effective and striking composition. Her look has '80s and '90s elements. Love the boots! In fact, they look identical to my Fiorenti & Baker boots.
Why ‘anger’? What, because she’s wearing some heavy boots with black and red? I love what the girl is wearing but the whole composition including the title smacks of a huge lack of subtlety on behalf of the sartorialist. It’s a bit too pretentious for my liking.
Have to agree with those of us, while appreciating the photo, find the outfit just too super-hero/action figure… too much of a costume. The clothes only inspire me to wear something else….
Beautiful composition and hair. However, I have to agree with Bren on the shoes. A fierce looking tough-girl heel bootie would up the body-con factor and take out the trying-hard-b/c-I-live-in-NYC juxtaposition of fem-bot/androgyny. It’s just not working, and I’m surprised by all the boot-love commentary. The boots are cool, but NOT with the outfit.
look, she is pretty and all, but she is trying to be Shirley Manson. And the only person who can be Shirley Manson, is Shirley Manson. But nice try sweetie. ten points for effort.
This is exactly as how I want to look on those days where I wake up and simply want the world to go away. . . and yet still look insanely chic of course.
what’s up with all the american apparel haters? so what if its all from the store-if you knew where she got it all from, then how come YOU didn’t think of the outfit first?
