I love Angelo’s commitment to his beard and bow ties.  I mean, I don’t want to speak too soon, but – I think he is one of those guys I’ll be shooting for years to come. It will be fascinating to watch the evolution of his style, simply because he takes it so seriously and remains slightly left of center; it is always very much his own look.

This guy looks and dresses just like my grandfather. I don’t mean that in a bad way either. The look is just really dated, but he pulls it off beautifully. I hope he stays with the beard and bow ties too. It’s a great look on him.

This is an inspiring picture. One can tell that this guy wants to come off as symmetrically correct as possible. There are even ripples on either side near is shoulders where it should be smooth. I think he ought to consult with his tailor to solve the ripples and invest in a proper set of hangers to prevent this. Thoughtful look though.

I know some of the earlier shots show him with a shorter beard/just scruff, but when you have a beard that can get this long and full, you owe it to the men who can’t to do so. It looks much better this way.

I agree just to a certain extent, his look is halfway to somewhere…. I mean he either changes
the beard and the spectacles style or his dress code, right now he is in the midstream, I wish he would renounce on his beard + change violently his spectacles style. Or he stays with the beard and steps up his wardrobe. Whichever.

I love his singular polished look gentleman yes but then there is a nod to the punk or at lease outsider as well, the shaved hair, the longish beard. It is outside the norm in turns of business straight laced look. As you said “left of center” I definitely appreciate the pink book, I@ad, iPhone! And yes non-hipster glasses! I think the Bow Tie pops this outfit. The Jacket is a transitional shape, somewhere between dressy and casual. The shorter sleeve on the blazer shows more shirt cuff, so there is a shot of pattern / color as extra visual interest.
Angelo knows how to work his face, like a model. He gets you to look at his eyes. He has an “I know something” expression, and wants to tell you it.

I think either his beard is too long or his haircut is too short. His look would be much more harmonious and balanced with the beard matching the length of his haircut better.

Dear Sartorialist, I know exactly what you mean. I also have in mind a very stylish Greek artist, Mr. Giorgos Georgakopoulos, who is faithfull to a staple style (bowtie/silk scarf and tartaruga spectacles) and who always looks terrific.

Love the way he always wears a bow tie, it anchors the entire look. And the fact that he seldom uses a pocket square but a silver pen instead really makes this look his. He is definitely one of the few that I’ll be watching, the other one I love is of course Wooster. Thanks for a great post, Scott.

What I love about this shot is its not just a guy in a bow tie. its the details that make this look work. the slim cut suit, short cuff on the jacket, the vintage tie.
if you remove one item, it would look too conservative, if you remove another, it might be too quirky; his look strikes a perfect balance and this kind of style is not something you can just buy.
