You know, I honestly had to read through the comments to realize we are supposed to admire the outfit and that this wasn't Sart's first venture into cynical fashion criticism, i. e. using "American" as a pejorative: the ripped jeans, cutesy watch, backpack-sized purse, ubiquitous water bottle, self-absorbed texting all say American to me, and not necessarily in a good way.

You can get similar shoes in TopShop, or Marais USA, even Urban Outfitters.

you can get a suitable pair of wingtip oxfords at any thrift store in the world. her sweater doesn't fit. abercrombie and fitch makes god awful jeans…. and the watch is gawdy.

The shoes and pants and perfect. The blazer is cute; it adds a nice sharp detail to the whole ensemble, especially with the crisp black bag with the nice detailing. Nearly everything is good. The problem? Those shirts. Dumpy, ill-fitting, one of them too short. Otherwise everything is great.

the jeans and oxfords combination is perfect. it is nice to see that not all women want to wear skin tight jeans. the watch and pose put the whole fit together… I WANT HER TO BE MY GIRLFRIEND!

I love the subtle layering, the tailoring, the rips and the perfectly shaded dark tan brogues. Great autumn/spring look for many places but with a London undertone. This is another Sartorialist look that I covet for me!

Not a big fan of the holey jeans but love everything else. I have a pair of shoes just like that buried in my closet (they are actually a men's narrow)… but I *WANT* that bag!!!

i love that the shoes are in the focus. and that black and brown seem to be wearable together.

the shoes are ralph lauren collection wing tips. i just got a pair and they are amazing. versatile too-you can pair them with almost anything you already have in your closet.
