The brightness of the photo is stunning. Love the midi skirt and boots. It’s a stylish young way to dress these days.

Alone in a crowd with technology at her fingertips…she’ll never walk alone.

Yes, nice Scottish touch. I also love the short fitted jacket with a full skirt and heavy boots – nice contrast. xo Janea

We are all the time alone with our phone…we have a fantasy that so many people are with us …our follower….and the only moment we have to interact with real people we shut the door…from the real crowd and open a door to a fantasy crowd….

I totally agree. That is one of the things I notice by looking at these amazing pictures. Specially recently.

Very cool ensemble, and something I’d like to wear.

I see beauty in the background with those magnificent edifices. But she can’t bask in the glory of the story, as the immediate message on the screen is more important – really? Even when I’ve seen something a hundred times it lifts my spirits with its grandeur. I too can get caught up in the moment of the screen. But try not to.
Her outfit is so contemporary – but I’d have chosen a different purse.

I think the city is the subject in the picture. Beautiful shot.

Love the background. One thing says a lot more about our culture today than the fashion: a beautiful, crowded street with stunning architecture, and yet she seems so isolated with her phone.

I’m glad to see others commenting on the phone. Sometimes I feel as though I’m alone in being bothered by the phone zombies.

But how can you even look at the person when the backgound is so stunning. What I wouldn’t give to live in Europe…

I like how she looks isolated compared to the mass of people in the background.

Like this, the big Buffalo check on the skirt and the leather moto jacket, almost a uniform, with the big chunky shoes. Having blonde hair helps.

The post title got me, we are all sometimes alone in a crowd this days and that is the fall of human connection. We are so disconnected, we don’t even realize it.
    Beautiful picture.

How About another way of looking at it: she’s answering a message from her lover/friend/ family or inviting friends to dinner etc…. Not all of us are posting to blogs!

@Patricia and @Pella, it’s a grunge and throwback look. You see those boots popular in the US as well.

    Next City – same shit.

Nearly everybody is just “communicating” (?) via smartphone with somebody not standing in front of him or her…

By the way: What do you think? “Did she see or at least perceived the beauty of “il duomo”… ???

“By the way: What do you think? “Did she see or at least perceived the beauty of “il duomo”… ???”

Really? Why do people assume that she is an ignorant tourist who is blind the beauty around her. She might be walking that way twice a day and now she might be texting her mum that she is on her way home, texting friends or a lover. Living her daily life, like the rest of us – even if next to the duomo. I live in Amsterdam and sometimes I ignore the beauty of a 17/18th century city completely for the sake of daily things. It doesn’t mean I never stop to look at it. I am just not one of the tourists that walk around looking up with open mouths.
