Today I read in the annabelle about you and Garance, of course I had to search your Blog in the Internet. Wow, I just can say. Very very cool. I like it. =)
Very lovely portrait. I think Scott is getting even better at those. Interesting to see how much better people seem to look with no(or very little)make up.
I wanted to say; Thank you Sartorialist for getting me through the heat wave. If not for this blog I would have been wearing a pillow case(with a hole for arms and neck) and flip flops for the last two months. I usually can’t dress worth a spit in very warm weather. But armed with these examples, I made it through, and even had fun.
I love this series of portraits. Most of them are wearing little or no make up and are dressed simply. These portraits showcase their beautiful faces and striking hair. How do you say ‘bravo’ in Swedish?
This blog is really unique. It’s about style more than fashion.
Yours is one of the few to feature tons a dark-haired women, and plenty with short hair.
A lot of your portraits have self-assurance and strength. That’s truly hot. I know beauty is not bought at a cosmetics counter but I do enjoy a fashion blog that knows it too.
This could hang in any art gallery.
Dear Scott,
More fabulous portraits from the North; very beautiful…looks like the light and the beautiful people you encountered on this trip are a magic combination with you and your camera.
Noticed you are WordPressing things now…good work; site looks great.
Regards, Bernadette
Absolutely sublime photograph! And what I would give to wear my hair the way she does…but my bone structure just wouldn’t let me! :D Btw, the site’s new design is super efficient. Love it.
Aino, Blanca, Bianca. Similar simple open necklines, same blurred areca palm or studio background. same soulful eye contact. All intimate, moving , stunningly beautiful portraits.
I love that we can see you standing amid the rooftops behind you right in the middle of both of her eyes. This photo is like a Russian doll, with more to reveal under every layer.
The hair, no makeup save for the eyeliner – simplicity at it’s best. The androgynous quality of the look, and the woman herself, just makes it more beautiful.
She is simply and perfectly gorgeous. I wish more American women would choose their natural beauty rather than make themselves wrong by “fixing” themselves!
I think her ethnicity is probably half Gambian (african) and half Japanese. Because Jawo is apparently a Gambian surname, but she definitely also looks asian and specifically Japanese.
