I’m enjoying the polar opposite of styles that between 2 and 3. Both so chic for their particular looks. These are the looks that recall to me Sart’s little piece on being ‘visually greedy.’ Yum!

I was just thinking this. Wether the simple elegance of the last picture, or the bright joyful print above was prettier. I can’t decide, both are so lovely. But I am slightly leaning to the turtleneck and navy pants.

that dark grey wall is more of a presence than the girl, right? :)

I love the first one. The way such an intense haunting look the way she is in the shadow. And those sandals are gorgeous.

Because that’s the best place to catch people relaxed and in nice natural light: outside, when they’re enjoying a smoke and chatting to eachother.
A no-brainer I’d think, yet I always see people commenting on the presence of cigarettes.

im with ya on the ‘why?’ , even though i sketch smokers all the time. second hand smoke so unhealthy, but they stay still long enough! that’s where the cell phones come in, and they’re actually an improvement.

        “and they’re actually an improvement”.

Well, I can’t wait for proof that cellphones cause brain tumor. I think Scott might want to shut down the comments section when it happens, since every consideration about style will most likely be drowned under a massive wave of disapproving viewpoints on cellphone users’ nasty habit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow-ee – the third girl is just perfect! I love the clean tricolour palate, simple but detailed, with lovely tousled hair to soften the more businesslike outfit.

i truly appreciate when someone wears something very simple and basic as in the last photo. especially at an event such as a fashion show. it really shows great confidence! and is quite a relief to the senses. i love fashion and it’s been a huge part of my life but sometimes i feel like people are trying so hard it’s almost embarrassing. it’s funny, i even feel myself hesitating to write such a thing on here…

Xcuse me? (1st pic) A winter jacket and (summer) sandals? A real fashion-faux!

I suppose it doest follow the old rules. But sandals worn with coats are so sexy because they are unexpected, don’t you think? It certainly is here. And such quite a good way to be comfortable, just like shorts and sweaters are so perfect for fall.

Are there old (and new) rules? Well, if it suits her, but its not my style. Everybody got his/her opinion. Have a nice -fashionable- day!

Yes, I love them all, too. I am fond of that third woman who always looks completely chic in a simple way. My favourite way to dress.

The women that you shoot in Milan strike me as the most stylish on the planet but when I was in Florence last summer I must admit I noticed stylish men much more than stylish women…

Goes to show how perception of style changes. Back in the eighties I knew someone who had exactly the same style as the woman in the third picture, even her hair was the identical. In those days, my friends and I found her look extremely boring and “square”. Today things are so overdone that the same look has become, as it were, a sight for sore eyes.

I really like the third photo. That white sweater is as clean and spare as it gets, and I love it paired with simple navy pants. I would love to see the shoes.

The woman in photo #3 bears an uncanny resemblance to my mother when she was a young woman; the white turtleneck sweater, red lips and nails and the ever present cigarette. Beautiful!
