I love the unexpected green shoes with this pretty straight forward summer look
I have talked before about matching a pocket square to a shirt, or a tie or sportcoat but I don’t think I have ever considered having it complement your hat-band. Well played sir!

I love the fit of his jacket. I think he looks very sharp in total. For me, not being a hat person, I find the hate adding too much to the look.

i wouldn’t call this look straight forward at all. the unusual shaped hat gives it a whole other feel.

This whole ensemble is just so…cool. But his face is the best part.

I’m not a fan of the overall look: think it’s too busy, with the shoes, pants, bag, shirt, jacket, hankerchief, hat and hatband all working in different colour families.
But I DO like his shoes, and I LOVE the hat. It looks excellent, and the close-up shows that he’s very secure in the fact that it looks excellent. Good for him! He pulls it off.

The shoes are great, I need a pair. His smug expression seems to identify him as a fashionista, which undermines the seemingly carefree nature of his ensemble.

thanks for the post
don’t forget some people are more comfortable in front of a camera than others especially when someone stops them in the street
I think the look you are seeing is more one of puzzlement over who I am and why i am stopping him to take his photo

Shoes, shirt, jacket … perfect. and the hat is gorgeous.
This is a style that should be seen more all over the world. Style not fashion.

Why a “shame” about the bag? More bag snobbery… He’s got stuff to shlep around New York – what’s the issue with the bag. It’s just a bag!!!

There was one thing that put it into the ‘love’ category for me: shoes! Perfecto! Men don’t experiment with shoe color so much and the green adds a subtle touch.

The pocket square doesn’t match OR complement the hat band. They both have stripes, that’s all. Colorwise it’s closer to the shirt. My take with pocket squares is that they should pull together disparate parts (colors, patterns, or both) of the WHOLE outfit– they should never “match” any of it!

I like his look, like the shoes, but I wish he’d chosen a different bag–something more complementary to the summery feel of the ‘ensemble’.

I like this alot, but it would look even more refined if he aged 20 years.
The shoes are fantastic. I’ve only ever seen 2 pairs of green shoes, on this man and on Nana Boateng earlier on your blog. They both looked fantastic. Maybe i should invest.

This outfit screams class, tradition and hip. Who says you cant go home again?
Jacket could be luciano barbera, but I’m not positive.
Either way it’s a winner.

I absolutely love the bag!!! This page is pure undiluted pleasure. As a Frenchwoman I feel flattered that Paris is a favourite locale. But why so few of us older women?

those shoes kick ass. I want them.
The combination of all the parts is terrific. Not many people could get away with making that hat fit together. Light jacket with dark pants is easy to screw up but he does it just right.
