From a rain swept UK seaside town This looks Devine! Simple City Chic A Textural Tonal Delight with Seductive hints of Color Aaaah an Icecream concoction with Cotton Candy Topping Delicious Roll on Summer….
For a long time I’ve admired certain women’s ability to wear dresses with that silhouette. She looks fantastic. Also, she’s added that cute little cardi, and she wears it with aplomb. I like that look and wish I could do it myself.
I love the blue bag, and though it takes center stage–even over the shoes–it’s not O.T.T.
Look at how cute and trendy we are: mini shift dress (check), wedges (check), frame bag (check), baloon sleeve jacket (check), hair band (check check check!)
But, to her defense, that is EXACTLY how you wear all these summer trends. Bravo, miss.
She looks like a modern grecian goddess! There’s something in the water in NYC – women there really get themselves and they really get fashion! Great picture Sart!
What a tremendously sexy, late-30is, 40ish or post-40ish woman. Wow, wow, wow. Not sure about the meaning of such a woman showing so much leg, but she pulls it off devastatingly. Wow.
Beautiful smile, but the clothes don’t really do her justice. I think this is the case where the trend and the person/body type don’t seem to correspond.
There is something so quintessentially “last week of May” about this look. The colour pallet being decidedly summer, but the cardigan suggesting still a hint of spring in the air. Sweet, delicate and endearing all around.
She looks great. What a good look for the early days of summer. Despite the bag hanging off her right shoulder and then her purse in her right hand – I think this look really works.
That trapeze/baby doll dress is a hard one to pull off but she did it perfectly. She has the long legs and the swan like neck to make this dress work for her Anything less will make it look like Courtney Love.
Is a frame bag really considered trendy anymore? Considering the LV Suhali L’Ingenieux, though GORGEOUS, is at least 3 years old, I don’t think the frame is still The It Bag style. THE frame bag was probably the Celine Clandestine bag, right? 2 years ago. So you see what I mean.
Now if she’d been carrying a quilted Chloe Bay, she’d be much closer to trendy.
see, i think the detail is what makes a look stylish. and i think a gorgeous blue Louis Vuitton bag in a timeless style, even one several seasons old, keeps her from being simply trendy, and gives her a bit of personal style. not to mention she’s so fresh and adorable looking that I bet she’d make Old Navy look good …
i have absolutely no complaints about this outfit whatsoever. her confidence and grace pulls this bit together even more-so. great find; bravo, sart! :)
Sartorialist– My friend and I have continually discussed the photos your website this past year. Both of us mentioned your website in each other’s yearbook. I’m sure we’ll talk about this outfit at school tomorrow. :)
Sart, do all these girls have such great smiles walking down the street, or does everyone just glow when you say you like their outfit? Either way, it’s nice to see.
lovely. love the polish on the toes but not the fingers. love the colors. love the shape of the dress and i think that broad hem keeps it feeling perfectly appropriate for the city, just refined enough. great shoes.
Very feminine and appropriate for a “summer in the city” look. Young, carefree, but ladylike for this particular day and age. Lovely shot, Sart. xoxo, Lady
For some reason, I’m just not on board here. The bag is gorgeous but I’m not so sure it flows with her very billowy dress and slouchy cropped cardigan. This just annoys me…sorry.
What amazes me about this outfit is the fact that she’s showing a ton of skin but, unlike the young lady above her, she doesn’t look too bare. She looks like summer, but not like the beach, if that difference makes any sense.

She is cute, and the colors are refreshing. Great bag and shoes too.
However, I think that she’s working too many trends at once. Also, I don’t think that the dress and cardigan flatter her figure…where IS her figure???
