The fur is beautiful, but I’m really digging the camel coat. Love the generous cut – flashback to the early 90s. Well done play on proportion, too, paired with the long skirt.
I love the second photo, the quiet confidence of her outfit, the beautiful use of volumes and muted hues contrasted with a flash of dark patent. She’s memorable.
I really like those style coats… it really grew on me this year. Almost like a folding origami style. Now if only I can find a light summer style. Lovely photos like always!
Love the second coat. have a confession to make. don’t know where she got it, but, as a frequent visitor of this blog, i once found exactly the same model on net-a-porter site which is/was bannered here… that designer coat cost over thousand pounds…the pictures were taken from every angle and could be zoomed for details… so my dressmaker copied the model and sewed a coat for me ! :) Thanks, Scott, thanks, pret-a-porter :)
To me, the fur coat seems to overwhelm the lady as I saw nothing but the fur then the shoes and finally her face. But she’s carrying a nice functional bag.
Since spring is almost here, I don’t think I need to wear such coat anymore! But anyway, that faux fur coat impressed me so much! Very classy and stylish!
I absolutely love both- the fur coat/boots combo is such a classic and chic Winter look. Such gorgeous colours. And I love the play on proportions in the second photo. People don’t consider their rear view as much as the front- this proves it’s just as important.
I know this post obviously has a large focus on shape and silhouette but wow; that fur coat is sumptuous!!! I love the belted detail on the cuffs of the jacket beneath and the fact that her bag has a belt around it too! Very Nice…
Its so chilly today, and these photos make me want to slip on what they’re wearing! I love that fur! I love warming and cosying myself up like that but leaving room for air so I don’t feel clastrophobic. The way she’s dressed is just perfect for me. Also, I need to get an apartment in NYC or something because if I wore fur where I live, I’d be staked to a cross.
First pic – now THAT I can see working – the fur coat/bare leg thing. To me the look is sexy when the coat is long and the lower half of the leg is exposed with a boot …. great contrast. Whereas the previous pic you posted a while ago – a shorter coat with almost the entire bare leg exposed – looked strange to me.
Thank you for posting this! (I like the 2nd pic, too.)
the 2nd outfit is TERRIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!! no self respect either to herself or to the people around, would never dare to go out in such an outfit punto!!
Love love love the shapes of those coats. Boxy, masculine, but the fur of the first one pulls it all together in a feminine way. Beautiful.
-Charlotte http://www.thewilderthings.com
The second coat is splendid, though it should really be shown in motion, but the whole look seems a bit – dare I say it? – dowdy. There is little contrast, the skirt could be slim pants or the like, the boots sleeker, the bag smaller, or… the whole sort of oversized look could be balanced with a large hat?
