Oh . . . love black and white photography. I guess that's why I do a whole blog on it . . . The shape of the jacket, the snow, the somewhat wild and haunted look on her face . . . all of it makes for such a dramatic photograph. Quite brilliant, Mr. Schuman.
Is this the man that was wearing the insanely high Nina Ricci platforms!? If it is he's incredible and I applaud him for being able to walk in them. If it isn't this still looks amazing…I'm not a fan of the big shoulders most of the time but here it is great and he wears it so well.
My mouth literally hung open when this picture showed up on my screen. I immediately opened the comments, even before browsing the other pictures! Very hard to put to put into words. I have mixed feelings of intrigue and sense that I need to look away from the stare. Very intense. And the very darkest areas in the middle of the scarf contrasted with the lightest corner top left is perfect. The jagged coat shoulders add a futuristic element to a ghostly look. This is a fantastic picture. Great work, Sart. I'm loving the direction of very artistic and interesting photos!
love the captured expression on the black, white and gray tones of the photo– classic.
I never noticed before too busy looking at the photo's however, in the header there is a very nice comment you were selected from Time Magazine's as in the Top 100 design Influences– I would rate you as #one.. great photo's day after day.
If there were a mysterious, French, (I know this person is from New York but bear with me), gothic, arty, post-apocalyptic science-fiction movie, this would be a character in it.
WOW!This picture is amazing.I love everything about it. The scarf, the shoulders, the sleeves, the snow….and it looks like he has no eyebrows! Very Bowie
So is this a man or a woman? When I first looked at the photo, I thought woman, but now I am forced to return to my reasons for that first impression. I thought, "How curious that she is wearing a fashionably strong-shouldered jacket with pushed-up sleeves in weather cold and snowy enough to require a head scarf! Why doesn't she also push down the sleeves to at least cover her forearms?" Now I must amend the pronouns I used in my own mental conversation. A great, haunting photo for many, many reasons!
None of my friends believe me when I said that the Claude Montana style was bound to know some sort of revival soon… You are showing very clearly that I was not very far off the mark!

I love absolutely all of your work and have been following you daily for the past 3 years…..this is just unreal and 1 of your best photos ever….thank you..this just stares at you…..L
Wow, how androgenous. Aldo, it's rare that a man can pull off such strongly extended shoulders paired with such a slim waist without looking like a Klaus Nomi wannabe, but this is one of those men. Marvelous.
This shot reminds me of Ingmar Bergman's "The Seventh Seal." The figure is shrouded in cloth similar to the figure of death but the face looks so much like the main character in the film.
Sorry, guys, this is super goofy. Talk about form over function. It's cold enough to wear a scarf wrapped around your head, but you still have your sleeves scrunched up?
you know, at first i thought this was a girl. upon revisiting this amazing bw picture i realized it was a guy. usually, i hate androgynous guys but i have to say, i love how bold he is.
Wow! I haven’t seen those kinds of shoulders in a jacket for circa five years. Dearing, unisex and brilliant in simplicity. Grate photo by the way. Congrats! K from P
There is SOMETHING about this picture and moment. Very mysterious and intriguing. He has an aesthetic that will make you turn your head – nice shoulder details.
this isn't the extemely tall and skinny woman Bill Cunningham captured in his On The Street/In Stide? she is so tall, thanks to the incredibly strange boots she is wearing, the car roofs only reaches her to the waist.. take a look: http://video.nytimes.com/video/playlist/style/on-the-street/1247463985977/index.html#1247467100513 I am a big fan of both sartorialist and cunninghams "on the street"
im not getting this shot. I guess i am not a proffesional photographer, but i am anyone else, aand i am someone who this picture was posted to see. I judt dont have anything to look at, unlike most of your other fantastic pictures. But i suppose i am only one opinion in a million.

This shot reminds me of Ingmar Bergman's "The Seventh Seal." The figure is shrouded in cloth similar to the figure of death but the face looks so much like the main character in the film.

this isn't the extemely tall and skinny woman Bill Cunningham captured in his On The Street/In Stide? she is so tall, thanks to the incredibly strange boots she is wearing, the car roofs only reaches her to the waist..
take a look:
