Her shades look to be Ilesteva. I’ve always had a penchant for the details, so that ripped tee isn’t as pleasing to my eye as the contrast between her mani and red clutch. Martha’s “fishing out” of the lucite wedges is also a great addition. True and honest style here.
I love all the people in this picture, the two people who are not in focus are actually my favorite. But the whole shot tells me about youth, fashion and color. I LOVE this.
Agree with CultureShockArt- i lived in NYC from 1987-1990, (worked for fashion mags) and they could have just as easily been standing on the corner of 8th St. & 5th Avenue across from the old Patricia Field store! Sans Starbucks, of course (we could establish a style timeline according to the absence or addition of Starbucks cups in fashion photos:
Pre-Starbucks…or Post-Starbucks.)
i would wear everything this young woman is wearing and I’m much older than she is and her shoes are fabulous, she looks like she is standing on air.
Also, the tortoise sunglasses and the bowler hat on the left are fabulous. Hats seems to be coming back in fashion. Great !
what i wouldn’t give to trade wardrobes with sophia for a day, or even an hour. that skirt is perfection! love the back to the future feel of this shot.
very 50′s my mom would of worn that …..not the tee…there was a singer Keely Smith…her husband was a crazy band leader Louie Prima…that was the look….scary guy near her
Rocker chic meets Victorian maid meets diva. What an out of the box ensemble! Love that stripey and flirty print on the skirt. http://twitpic.com/photos/DolmaTaksta
I love how you photograph the beauty of everyone’s individualistic style! There are countless times I enjoy looking at people’s outfits even if it is not my style at all, its just an incredible thing!
Not the moment for that. In some five years it could be cool, but now , and, just according to me. it’s a bit vulgar.
Of course I’m not the boss of the trends. I’m a cititizen of a little town in the top north of Spain ,but NY trends does NOT impress me, as I’m a bit of a Sartorialist.
This is why I love New York (and London for that matter) – you can just be yourself and relax about it. More formal cities like Milan & Paris don’t really allow for these kind of looks!
Wow! Now that is a “LOOK”, Lovin’ it. Colorful yet a bit dark at the same time. I dig how her glasses match her t-shirt and her nails match her dress and even the Starbuck’s Straw! Real nice picture too, I can feel the vibe from way over here! Thnks
They are looking good to go, life is too short and some rules have to be broken. We should make the most out of life and live it to our maximum because we only have one life.
I love her shoes! I love her green straw. But then I love all three of the people in front! Whatever that is they are drinking looks like its really refreshing. i want some. Is it ice tea?
She looks great! And that photograph is so interesting. I can imagine focusing on the first guy in the shorts and tank top, then seeing the second guy and focusing on him, and then finding her. I think there are elements from their outfits that work coherently to make this composition even more amazing.
