I see cool hats, relaxed, sportswear-infused silhouettes, and great style personalities. This South-African series is probably one of my favourite of all times, because it seems like these people just always dress like that.
OH MY GOD, THE SECOND PIC ….. took my breath away. Can’t go with with black and white, with a red accent … ie, her lipstick … and even her DRINK, for god’s sake!
Welcome to my town! Hope you have an awesome time. Been following you for ages – just never thought you would be here!! There is just so much to see and do – we love fashion!
yes! fashions! and thank you for helping people get it un-twisted. Africa 2012 is not a National Geographics story – it is contemporary, cosmopolitan, and chic!

Great work always Mister Schuman, and thank-you for the inspiration!!
I’ve been to Johannesburg. Great place, and I love the fashion too. One of my favourite places to shop is The Space. Its a great place to discover up and coming african designers, and some of the clothes are absolutely gorgeous. My favourite brand being Sway.
Just an observation but in your time in South Africa it seems like you only photographed black men and women. Did you photograph any other group of people?
Everyone seems to love the SA pics, not one person has mentioned race or colour or blacks only being photographed. Whats the problem Jay or diehonest? Statistically the black community makes up 80% of the population in our country, you people being the minority. Its great that Scott has presented trully the dynamics of our country. Yes..there’s plenty cool white people out there ,but maybe not enough to catch his eye. I say yay to Scott for being politically correct, maybe this was not his intention but more his artistic eye leading him to great aesthetics.
I dont want this comment to turn into a racist attack …Just as you observed, this is also my obversvation. Dissapointment happens all the time, deal with it.
