But as a stocky guy, I appreciate the lower rise on mens pants when I can find them because I’m so short waisted (even though I’m 6′ tall) and it can easily look like the waist of my pants is up under my rib cage…not a good look.
Also, I’m not loving the knit ties, I wore them in the ’80s. I guess it’s because I’m a stocky man and the look is better on a thinner man.
This is a ridiculous diet and works against how human digestive systems now function. The “science” used to support it is spotty at best and pushes people to eat and live in a way that will last you until your next slice of bread, at which point you’ll balloon right back up. Eat healthy, be active, and learn to be happy with your life. That’s the best “diet” you’ll ever take on.
Nice combination of the green textured tie, navy pocket square and red lapel pin. Nice to see men not afraid to add color. The fellow beside him looked pretty interesting as well.
I love how he mixes the Bottle Green tie with a navy handkerchief – It balances very well, and with the timeless grey suit, its perfection.. Not to mention the orange detail :-) Great picture, Scott.
It seems like he wears that suit often, and he wears it so well. From the wrinkles I understand that, he really owns the clothing it is not the other way round. Men with the very neat, perfectly ironed suits are uninteresting.
Norman I would normally agree you and his belt could be a little narrow for that suit but I think with the open weave of the knitted tie it actually works quite well and the lighter grey suit can carry off a brown belt.
His hair and beard look just right with the classic ensemble–nice balance there. And from what we can see, the gentleman on the left seems to be pretty darn spiffy too!
Photos like this one put the hugest smile on my face. I love the impeccable taste in clothing both Gents seem to have, but most of all…THE MOMENT. I love these captured moments. Photography serves many purposes, but this has got to be what it’s REALLY intended for.
Bit all over the place with colours and selection of pieces; red (pin) or blue (tie) hued pocketchief better- doesnt have to be matchy matchy; I would pick a brown banded watch for the brown leather weave belt. Like to see the shoes though.
Great photo. Handsome guy. Beautifully dressed and wonderful surroundings. I wouldn’t mind betting the bloke is actually American though! He does not look British. And I’m talking purely in terms of how he dresses. Looks dapper of course. But American dapper. x
My favourite thing about this is the little red badge. For me it makes the suit look playful – still formal, but less serious. PS i’m a fan of Sol beer, why peeps be dogging it!!!?
What wonderful teeth! His face is lovely, his clothes ditto, and I know it’s de rigeur to wear heavy beards at the moment, but for some reason I just can’t bring myself to like them.
Yes he is beautiful and beautifully dressed. Perfect in fact. By the way from hi lapel pin I would say he is neither British or American! The red lapel pin is the Chevalier de Legion d’Honneur, so I would say that he is French…
It’s difficult to tell but his pin looks like an enamel poppy – paper poppies are worn in the UK in November as an act of remembrance for the war dead – first started after the first world war. But enamel poppy badges are increasingly worn throughout the year as a sign of support for the armed services.
Great pic. Alls he is missing is a bowler cap. But, the gentleman he is speaking with looks to be even more dapper? Too bad we couldnt see a pic of them both. Nice work Scott. Thanks!
His trousers are too low-waisted and I’m not a fan of the too casual woven leather belt. The knit tie is nice although I prefer a more elegant self-lined necktie for summertime. The gentleman with whom the beard guy is speaking is rocking an interesting Eton collar.
Great photo and great energy. The little red badge is a poppy pin badge. They are worn particularly around Remembrance Day in the UK to pay respect to the members of the armed forces who have died since the first world war. The badges help raise money for charity to support members of the armed forces.
Nice picture. Though, I wouldn’t choose Sol in a British Pub– no it’s much better to have on a Mexican beach when you’re feeling a bit heady from the sun’s intensity. Of course you know the beer will only contribute to the wooziness, but it’s so cool and just right.
