I was thinking of how much the bodies changed since certain periods and how this influences the authenticity of the look? I don’t mean only the body (different beauty ideals), but also the faces. I think there are period faces, which don’t necessarily depend on the haircut, but physiolognomical changes.
On the previous images of this series it did not come through as evidently, but on this particular image I think it is shouting. What do you think?
You should immediately check out the work of Jennifer Greenburg, a brilliant artist from Chicago. She did a series of photographs called The Rockabillies, which she published in a beautiful book, with the same title.
