Tuesday was really about hi-top Nikes for the ladies.

Funny, as soon as the temps go over 70F (21-ish C)  I never think about hi-tops.  They just seem like they would be too warm.  However, Ruby and Kiki might force me to reconsider.

Exactly 10 years ago, almost to the month, Nelly came out with the “Air Force 1s” song. All would’ve thought that it would be a season/cyclical fad like everything else, and yet, they never went out of style, ever. Today you can get high tops in any size, colour-configuration, you name it. It’s a grand testament to really striking it with that one design that will last forever, much like the Adidas Samba.

I personally love high tops and don’t mind wearing them when the weather gets warmer. They’re super-comfy. Personal favourite affordable high-top sneaker brand: Creative Recreation.

Gorgeous shot. Love the high tops paired with the Topshop frilly socks, sort of my go to look in New York at the moment.

Don’t care about hi-tops very much but love the atmosphere of the shot. Her smile and her top are great.

Not a style that I would sport, BUT it looks great on them. Like you, I think they’d be too hot to sport during the height of summer!

As for the picture, it’s always so interesting to see the back production of shoots!

Love the idea of sneakers or sport shoes during summer and dress up… great style… and it’s just depends if you feel comfortable or not…there is not question about it!

These do look great, but I need to wear sandals when it’s hot out. But these girls can pull them off, and definitely don’t look uncomfortable or out of season.

Out of 28 responses [many of them inane] there were only 4 that didn’t have a URL attached to promote their own blogs. Do people really care about these wonderful pictures or are they just interested in promoting themselves? Just say’in!

LOL! You guys do know that “high tops” have a distinct function, of which have absolutely nothing to do with “warmth”, right?

Higher cut sneakers offer a bit more ankle protection than the standard low cut version. With the higher cut version, the mobility of the ankle joint is lessened, decreasing the range of motion, lending itself to more stability.

I guess much on functionality truly gets lost, when it comes to the fashionista

I’ve never owned a pair of Nike sneakers & probably never will but a lot of girls look really cool in them.
