wow what a cool look! i like that shes just wearing shorts, ray ban-esque sunglasses and a black teeshirt, but her attitude speaks for it self. thats what makes her haircut and outfit work so well. what great shots you capture!
Be careful that you are not in some way promoting the idea that cigarette smoking is fashionable and cool. We have to remember that it’s killing people-have you heard? Sorry, but I just had to go there.
i think that she looks great, even with a cigarette.. i think its important to remember that smoking is a individual choice, so stop judging people as uncool just because they smoke.
You anti smokers are sooooo frustrating and boring! Come on, just because there’s a photograph of a young ish looking woman smoking doesn’t mean that this blog promotes or even condones smoking. You’re totally missing the gist of this shot – the photo was taken because she’s got great hair and looks hot, not because she’s smoking. The smoking is incidental. We get bombarded with enough anti-smoking propaganda in every day life, can we please let Sartorialist continue to be focused on fashion and style, rather than becoming another outlet for the haters to spout their tired old slogans?
First, she is lovely. Scott shot a great picture. He is an artist. However, smoking is not an individual choice. Second-hand smoke has kills, too. Secondly, the smoking is not incidental; it completes a look which appeals to a certain segment of this site’s demographic, one which I hope Scott would feel inclined to marginalize before he marginalizes the rest of us.

That’s a great head of hair. It’s funny – but if you look at the sign they are actually sitting outside of a hair salon- Frisöre means hairstylists…

Lovely swinging ’60s, Mary Quant-style hair. Shame about the cigarette. Ciggies are SOOOO downmarket and uncool!

Her hair is too Mireille Mathieu for my liking and the cigarette is a major turn off… Her companion on the other side is so alluring!

The hairstyle is called a wedge.
Popularized by Dorothy Hamill, among others. Style maven Bernadette van Huy used to have one in the mid-90s.
