My Best Buy from Kiev

Flightsuit6983Web

FlightSuit6995Web

I had forgotten that Azzedine Alaia spent his early years designing the flight suits for the Ukranian Air Force….or maybe I just made that up. Whatever the case, if I can lose 4 more pounds, I know what I’ll be wearing for Halloween this year.

So do I wear this with a flat or a heel?

Super-cool!! Conjures up the movie Dune where the characters had those moisture recycling suits that supposedly made potable water. Nothing like authentic military gear.

When you lose those four pounds, please post a photo of yourself wearing it. What an amazing piece!

This looks like a costume from The Fifth Element or how I imagine they dress in Neuromancer, In my opinion it would suit some big black boots… Cheers for the great blog Mr Schuman.

Shoe choice is critical here. I’d recommend an ankle high rigger boot with a cap toe. Steel tip optional.

This brings to mind a photo that Humans of New York posted a few weeks ago: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=533945043346267&set=a.527171964023575.1073741826.102099916530784&type=1&relevant_count=1 .

Dude wore flats (err…), but i think you could rock some heeled boots with the above garment, as it looks way less bulky.

A great boot I think. My dad was a fighter pilot and wore one of these. When I was a kid he always came home with the pockets stuffed with candy, could come in handy for halloween!

Flats, definitely. You never, ever wear heels for Halloween. I made the mistake once in my life and I’ll never make it again. I was five, my brother was nine. He was a pirate, I was a princess. I had these cute little glittery backless mules with a tiny heel that I was thrilled with. But I couldn’t keep up with my brother and his friends as they raced from house to house getting candy. His stash ended up being ten times mine. Never again. I’m still bitter.

Halloween is over, but you are right; pressure suits really had a huge impact on fashion. And it is time to bring the space age back! Did you know that the the original (green) standard airforce suits were spaypainted with silver for the Mercury 7 astronauts?

Scott. This is the poorest quality picture I’ve seen on this site in all my years of coming here. I love it. That’s 1.

For 2, this is some super sci fi shit brother. Take it from me; I’ve been a geek’s geek long before being a style geek. This is total Alien style, or something you’d see on Dune as someone mentioned above. I’d try to hunt down some footwear wardrobe from the 70′s/80′s sci fi and Anime classics, or at least use the wardrobe design from movies as inspiration. Perhaps some forward designed hi top sneakers or men’s boots will set this cool suit off. Good find brother.

I can’t imagine anyone but aliens wearing this suit….lol
