Not sure about the PJ inspired clothing, but I love the suiting pieces made feminine with silk trim and undergarments…surprised you didn’t shoot Marc Jacobs personal outfit at the end of the show? Maybe you are saving it for another post?
I loved all shoes and the sparkling low ends of dresses and coats were cool. I loved Kate also and a couple of looks but in general it was really a bit of something or nothing. Conservative and not feminine looks… Not tis time, Marc didn’t do it to me this time!
Marc has lifted his game this season, it is a masterpeice in comparisson to the last two seasons! Louis Vuitton has always been about luxury and travel but we never really think about where luxurious travellers stay, I loved the posh hotel set of the show. The concept was brilliant right from the start with the girls wearing pajama type clothing and skimpy negligees but when it progressed into the eveningwear it was simply outstanding. I particularly liked the menswear fabrics embellished with those sparkly hems and it took me back decades to the days of the silver screen sirens, so inspired. I have to say too that I loved the puffy fur speedy bags – so cute! I just can’t wait now to see how these clothes are translated into a campain.
This collection was partly inspired by ELIZABETH TAYLOR in Butterfield 8 or Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. The snug slip dresses and the artichoke jet black wigs on all the models clearly show this. Very fleshy and overripe…a sexy young woman showing up at a hotel for a trist wearing nothing but a fur coat over a bra and panties. The staging is provocative but the clothes are wearable. It is all about coat dressing. And the cloth coats- with their oversized fit and smattering of sequins at the hems- are gorgeous.
This narrative for this show was all about a woman on the edge- a fleshy Liz Taylor overripe sexuality a la Cat on Hot Tin Roof meeting her lover in a hotel in a fur coat and underwear. He has been pushing the PJ thing for awhile now. Most women cannot go to work in PJs without alarming their bosses and looking ridiculous but ok… Beaded coats are gorgeous.
The furry speedys are not my thing at all. They remind me of little girls’ purses when playing dress up. But the overall aesthetic of the show was fabulous. It was so subdued, feminine, and sexy. The details and richness in all the clothing were to die for.

Love the retro, boudoir feel! Super feminine, but with a few powerful, structured pieces thrown in. Incredible!

The set was so amazing…the idea of the doors opening and the models strutting out at different intervals is simply ingenious. Only Marc.
