I think this guy is sloppy. From head-to-toe this guy just do not impress me. I would not peg this guy as an Editor-in-Chief of a fashion magazine but I would peg him as an IT guy or one those guys from the Gap Headquarters in San Francisco, CA.
I am perdicting he looses his job and or the magazine gets a large set back. I have been so very very disappointed with all the politics in GQ since this runt took over. I am sick of the republican bashing and democrat praising theme of this publication. Take a hint from the mag “george”…politics and fashion dont go well.
Jim Nelson is amazing, he’s the editor-in-chief for one of the greatest magazines ever created. Look good or not bow down. I would give up anything to be in his position.
I think Jim’s political stances are fine. I’m not a Democrat, but I can at least respect the fact that he takes stances. Maybe if more people followed their ideals instead of the masses, we’d be in a better position in this country right now.
I am so amazed with the things that GQ magazine has. I have subcribed this magazine for over a year now, but my main point of intrest for commenting is I would like to pose for GQ it would be greatly appreciated if I could be apart of this great movement yomiketwice@yahoo.com is my e-mail address and think I would be a great addition to the GQ family.
If you look up images of him, he never has his tie cinched at the neck. Does he not know how to buy the right sized shirt? I don’t think he looks stylish, either. Maybe you have to see him in person…
I am sure there’s more to being stylish when you’re editor-in-chief of one of the best and biggest fashion magazines ever created. One has to have excellent writing, editing and leadership abilities; he/she has to have style or an eye for fashion, and the list goes on. Be that as it may, style should reflect on the person’s looks and personality. I truly apologise, but Jim Nelson does not appear to have that style I perceive an editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine should have. I’ve seen far more stylish people on this site, and ever more people in person who dress well and are stylish, and are equally skilled/talented. But like I said, perhaps he has other qualities that should make up for what he lacks in style. Or maybe his style reflects on his work but not on himself? I’ve seen that in others too. Or perhaps, he just isn’t photogenic (I seen other photos of him – same comment). Just like what they say, sometimes, no matter how ugly or simple the clothes look, a person can carry them nonetheless in style because he/she has the personality/x factor. But sometimes, no matter how good or expensive the clothes you wear, they just don’t work for you. In any case, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To each his own. And P.S., I love GQ!

I don’t reckon he touches Dylan Jones on style terms (Uk GQ editor). But his jacket is lovely, as are his shoes.

I don’t think the head of a fashion magazine has to “dress up”, he just has to be stylish and every time I have seen him he has always looked stylish
