My vote for Most Stylish Street Style Photographer would have to go to Phil Oh of Street Peeper. His style is not as over the top as a lot of the other photographers, but (like him) it’s subtle and complex.  He’s consistently good at mixing patterns and color.

Really great style! Not too simple, not too exuberant, I like it!

You and Mr. Oh are always in the frontline of fashion photography and style. Such an inspiration.

I have no idea about fashion. But why is this good? What makes this mans clothes NOT look ridiculous in your eyes? I’d like to understand what it is that makes a way of dressing “stylish” even if to me (and I guess to a big percentage of “normal people”, meaning people who are not into fashion), it looks just completely ridiculous, wrong, tasteless and even embarassing, as if he dressed up for a Kindergarten party from his grandma’s drawer. How is it, that certain things that look okay to me are called “No Go” in the fashion world and others, which are so outrageously crazy, weird and even awkwardly embarassing are celebrated as “great style”? Is it just a hunger for more crazyness, more superlatives, more? I’m not trying to insult anyone, just wanting to learn and understand. I don’t judge this person (who I don’t know, so why would I judge him?), but I question the common meaning of “style”. Please feel free to write back or email. I’d like to hear from people from the fashion world about why they think this is great style. I’m just curious. Yours sincerely: Mia, who has no style at all, because she can’t afford designers clothes and therefore is unworthy of the fashion world and is not willing to go out on the streets in overly put-together and overprized rubbish.

Mia, I am not from the fashion world and I do not think from the 4 pictures posted here I understood as well why the gentleman’s sense of style was and is applauded. But maybe he really is consistently cool, just as he is consistently good looking (what lovely hair!)

Love his style, but I think it is far from subtle! :)

I find myself agreeing with Quyen, Phil’s dressing looks great, but not really what I’d call subtle. No grumble though, I’d happily wear most of those pieces myself. On a different aspect of ‘look’, whenever I see images of Phil he appears interested, amused and openly engaged with the world around him, quite charming to see.

‘Consistently good’ is probably the best expression to describe his accuracy in picking up such disparate patterns. Great!

I’ll take subtle and complex over loud and in-your-face any day! It takes more skill and artistry to get noticed for your subtleties.

Hmmm…I would agree that he has style, and I like it. But it does seem like more of a feminine style. Maybe he’s going for that? Anyway, I would admire this style more on a woman.

I love to see these kinds of photos of people doing the mixed print thing right!
Because I find it quite difficult myself! Always afraid it’s too bold…

I personally find it always difficult, to combine such clearly geometric patterns into a meaningful, fashionable way, especially with same geometry. Most of the cases it makes it to my eyes rather “heavy”, but I understood that the guy is exuberant enough…
