I love how this can be taken in a classic or punk direction – complete polar opposites yet the skirt works for both. Thanks for highlighting this comparison.

even in this city mood ballerins can evoke romanticism. if you like this outfits you have to look at the 1960 dress by Nina Ricci in my last post! So ballerinas, so let’s go to l’Opéra!

I bought a white tutu very similar to these in anthropologie for Christmas, although it is slightly longer and puffier. It is the best thing I have ever bought I can dress it up with pink angora sweaters and baby blue Carven bow shoes. Or I can pretend to be a Russian princess with a fur coat, lace detailed jumper and grey tweed tasseled slippers. Or I can dress it down it with distressed leather boots from Frye. It can be worn with white tights like a ballerina, or ankle socks like a little girl playing dress up, or in the summer I can’t wait to try it with a broderie anglaise tshirt, bare legs and sandals. Every girl needs a tutu in her wardrobe!

I made mine with 21 feet of tool. It is very simple to make as long as you have elastic and abundance of tool. It just takes a little while =) These are beautiful though. I love the blazer with it. Super cute!
