Marvellous family-sized coats…next season when the shillouette shrinks once again…just wash extra hot and spin at a slower cycle!

Two years ago I bought an amazing circa 1980 100% camels hair coat. The quality of the lining and camels hair is fab. I had the shoulder pads removed, sleeves lengthened and the shoulders downsized. It is very similar looking to the coats you have posted. Cost was $65 plus $70 for alterations.

Brilliant idea, Catt! I love everything about it, from buying used, to getting something tailored to fit me perfectly. I will go and try to do the same as you.

I love it. So cozy and unstructured. I think the fitted coats are too prissy and prim and proper. These women look like they are happy to display their style. I have an oversized bright burnt orange one by London Fog that I loved to wear to NY when I visited in winter for work – great splash of color in a sea of NY Black. It was great to throw over short puffer jackets and scarves etc..

I know who you are, I think. If you are the person i am thinking off, then you are brilliant.

I love how 80′s / Talking Heads these look. The more exaggerated the better! I prefer them with skinnier-legged pants though. The top two are my favorites.

Other than the one of top right, I feel these are just too large and look like they are intimidating and diminishing the wearer. I thinks clothes should enhance our look, not overwhelm us

Bottom two look like they’re wearing their mothers’ coats from back when oversized mens’ and womens’ clothing roamed the earth.

Being petite, I can’t stand being swamped in excess fabric but to each their own, I guess…….

No, No, No, NO! Please no. Please, please no. They grow into them.

Quite the opposite! Seems like the bigger the person, the tighter the clothing!

Love it! We used to buy overcoats like these for $5 at FLIP downtown in the 80′s. :)

I love oversized coats. On women it looks so gamine and dainty. Plus oversized coats are actually comfortable and warm. They look amazing. Its so tiresome to see every single woman out there wearing the tightest thing she can. This is extremely confident and cool.

Gorgeous! I love every single one! I am especially tired of that 2003 tight sleeve thing, if you know what I mean, where the sleeves of coats are so fitted, you can’t even get a sweater sleeve inside. I am a small, and I love feeling the coat swirl around me. I especially love it when the sleeves are long enough to almost cover my hands, not only is it warm, but it looks so cool. So glad that the constant need to push up sleeves and show the forearm is over.
