Gives a whole new proportion to a coat…everything seems to be going up these days..the length of pants has really gone up and now its time for the sleeves…that’s fashion for ya…what goes up must come down!
sometimes you have to wonder if they push this look to get people to buy more. Once the sleeves/pants have gotten as short as they can and you’ve gotten rid of all your longer pants/sleeved coats, the new trend will be back to long sleeves!
Such a great sleeve so long as you have a great pair of long gloves or something interesting going on that’s NOT mottled purple arms and fingers!! Mind you, I love long armed gloves or extra long sleeved jerseys x
Not a fan. The pics and styles here are great, but I feel gypped every time I try on anything 3/4 sleeve. Like, where’s the beef? (Though if I could get my hands on some long leather gloves . . . yeah, that’s the ticket.) (Please excuse my 80′s references. I’m old.)
I absolutely LOVE LOVE love them. But not on me. I look like a fool with three quarter sleeves. I do best with either cap sleeves, no sleeves, or very long sleeves past my wrists. Its very gorgeous and lady like….but not on yours truly.
While all of these looks above are styled very well, I am more of a fan of the 3/4 sleeve coat during those days when it’s 50-60 degrees and you need something, but not a full on winter coat. It’s especially hard when you have a patterned coat and a patterned long sleeve. My favorite look with the 3/4 sleeve during the winter is the long glove that meets the sleeve.
No, emphatic no even. Form follows function. Basic principle. The function of a coat is to protect us from the weather, ergo a three-quarter sleeve on a coat is not functional. To me they even look wrong, almost like children who have outgrown their clothes.
I think all of my coats were 3/4 sleeves this season. I had a lot of fun with sweater sleeves sticking out and long gloves. Except sometimes when I didn’t think I was left with cold hands and wrists. This is a great set of photos.
