I’ve been looking for a jacket made with a contrast piping–a great casual classic look.I think the boat is icing on the cake.–HB

Piombo! I love that boutique! I just found out it a couple of months ago here in Milan (near via montenapoleone).

He’s one of the few gentlemen I’ve seen wearing an open double breasted coat well. White belt . . . I assume he has on white shoes? Would have loved to see them!

I want to be THERE! I see the guy as the Captain telling great stories on his beautiful boat & afterwards, relaxing on the lovely cushions wishing for another afternoon on the boat.

You love it, I miss it.

Thank you for all your gorgeous posts of people who love life and understand, for the most part, timelessness.

that guy is a famous german aristocrat…. i cannot think of his name right now. he was one of the original ‘jetsetters’ of the 60′s and 70′s.
    awesome.

    stunning.

and im convinced that the boat would make a great dress. color-wise that is.

it reminds me of a chloe collection from a year or two ago.

God, it is so lavishly “leisurely”. Ugh. I’m not scoffing at the style, just the far reach that lifestyle is for me.

I love how you’ve managed to capture the elegance of the setting in each picture. The portrait of the boat looks so idyllic its fit for a postcard.

The guy is Hans Hermann Weyer, known as “Der schöne Konsul” (the handsom consul). A famous German with arguable reputation in the 60′ies who sold certificates of nobility to the nouveau riche and parvenues from the German petty bourgeois.

I’d guess it’s ‘Consul’ Weyer, not exactly an aristocrat but adopted and part of the jet set probably with everybody rolling his/her eyes :-)

See his website with magazine covers and you will recognize that he love uniforms – phantasy ones I suppose…

I don’t ask for much really.

I just want to work at that shop, creating displays, and live in a little apartment overlooking that marina where my attentive and handsome boyfriend and I will enjoy cooking pasta and sipping wine. I will wear linen and espadrilles and delicate sweaters, the soft salty breeze will make my curly hair toussled and sexy, I will be serene.

Sigh….beautiful and inspirational. Thank you Sart.

Yes, I can’t believe it. It’s Consul Weyer. I am German and in the 80′s he was in every talkshow you like see or not…anyway: Nice shots, wonderful old fashioned. I smell a hint of Signoricci by Nina Ricci.

    oh you were in portofino!
thats my fave part of the world, my nonna lives in rappallo (2 towns south)….i think so many of the little costal towns in liguria are so beautiful and full of amazing views.
next time your there , go to rapallo. there is a fab old hat shop and a toy shop that used to be a clothes shop in the 60′s. the old lady who owns it never got rid of her old pre-toy stock, if your nice she will take it all out and let you buy pieces.
they all still have the tags on….witch sounds boring but the graphics and logos are very cool.

Btw, Konsul Weyer and his wife are extremely friendly – I sometimes met them in Bonn-Bad Godesberg because the use to shop in the same supermarket and had a parking spot in the same garage my little humble Panda lived. Superfriendly to everybody they come across and always very stylish, a little bit too much sometimes for Tuesday mornings … ;-)
