I forgot to mention that….
YES, Karl did ask to see the photo I took of him!
After I took his photo he said “Let me see your masterpiece.”
Unfortunately whenever I tell someone the story Karl ends up sounding like Arnold Schwarzenegger. I can only do one German-esque accent, yes I know Arnold is not German, but that actually kinda goes with his Terminator outfit.

Ha – very funny! You’re right, Karl is doing a Terminator impersonation here… Why does it not surprise me that he would want to see his photo? (Actually, I would too!)

I loved that article in W where Chan Marshal tells the story about Karl telling her she was “full of class, WORKING CLASS.” Hilarious. I love that man.
Wonderful capture.

oh so cool.
Let me see your masterpiece.
Of course he used the word: ‘masterpiece’.
He wanted to see himself / ‘masterpiece.’

Karl is the greatest. No designer has ever done so many lines and furnishings and who knows what else and now shoots for fashion magazines.
Oh, I forgot about the diet book!

The intricacy of details in his jacket is in beautiful contrast with the inherent Zen emptiness of his black clothes. Black leather gloves and dark glasses conceal mortality while white silver hair reveals divinity. NO! this is no photo of a masterpiece…this is of unfolding divinity.

I’m relieved he was complimentary of your effort. I had in image of him as a totalitarian meister with no patience for the “man in the street.”

Karl is truly unique; many of us in the fashion industry wish we could ever attain a semblance of his greatness.

you’ve got one up on me because my fake german accent sounds like dana carvey’s saturday night live impersonation of the arnold schwarzahoohoo (i can’t spell his last name).

i think sart is refering to arnold being austrian, not german
and that karl is german but in sart;s impersonation, he sounds austrian.
