As I mentioned yesterday, the Fendi show was spot on the fashion mark.
To me, the highlight of the collection was the beautiful dressmaker detailing in several of the dresses. Â Pleats, texture play, and layering were utilized in combinations that kept the eye amused and the heart happy.

I love the square p;eated piece with the pleating around it and the straps going around her arms and shoulders. The length of the dress is perfect. Not too long or too short.

Hmmm….not really into this one either – and those bouffant ‘do’s are not helping. I do like the print ads though so maybe it will grow on me.

Perhaps it is a gender thing but things you view as highlights, as a women I view as hinderances. All those pleats, tucks are just too much, they are not a part of the outfit, they are tacked on it. All of these are interesting constructions, but not attractive or wearable by most except perhaps the first. I don’t know whether you are a part of the fashion elite that you don’t think about how this will look on women who are not in the industry.

I wonder, do you get to pick where you are seated at fashion shows? If not, what’s going on in your head while your figuring out lighting and the best backdrop for the models? You have an amazing eye for lighting, color, and use of focus. I don’t even study photography, but I must say you are brilliant.
And yes I agree, I think it’s interesting particularly where they choose to put most of the texture. Love the line up.

I love this collection because it’s back to Fendi basics! The way that Silvia Venturini can make such sculptural pieces seem soft and feminine is a true gift. And the mix of patterns and color in the first look? ….forget about it! It’s so soo amazing! How could you not feel beautiful in these pieces? They are all so…covetable! A+

I’m sorry, but these are terrible. The verticle strips of fabric look like something made by kindergartners. The third picture looks like oven mitts sown on the dress. The dresses do not accentuate the figures at all, and look uncomfortable and difficult to wear and to care for. I don’t mean to be a contrarian, but it appears they have run out of good ideas.

I find something to be a little off about these. The layering looks more like bibs than anything innovative. More flow to the looks would have made me love them but as is they look like too many separate pieces. However, I do love the fabrics for the first garment. The second too, eh, not so much. They seem stiff and matronly and that, combined with the bib on the third one, is a rather odd combination. There were other looks in the collection I liked better.
