I was really excited to read today on WWD.com that Aspesi has launched a new international e-commerce site.
Aspesi is one of my first stops in Milan when I go shopping, along with Piombo (now available at Barneys) and Al Bazar. I want to say the store is world-famous (but it might be Euro-famous?) for their down-filled outerwear – especially their down-filled shirt.
I would imagine I probably have 5 or 6 pieces of Aspesi outerwear in a range of styles – overcoat, shirts, layering vests (like the Italians wear on their scooters!), a nylon sportcoat…
To now be able to buy it online and have it shipped direct to door is not only great because of the convenience, but it is also going to open up space in my suitcase that is always reserved for my new purchases from Milan. Â Believe me – a puffy shirt takes more space than you think!

I have never seen this line, thanks for the introduction. I went to check out the down filled shirt, but from what I can see online it is a synthetic fill in the shirt. I am assuming that is correct because there are no baffles in the shirts so the down would just sink to the bottom. I love the clean silhouettes of this brand, the menswear is beautiful. On a side note if you are looking for a true down shirt – Patagonia’s new Ultralight Down collection is pretty amazing.

You’d be doing us a public service (in addition to the one you’re already doing!) by doing a post on other fashionable online places to shop for those of us who can’t travel like you do. This outfit is perfection and I’m daydreaming about how to pull off a female version.

I love this classic style combined to a tuch of contemporary.
Soo happy that they finally create the online store, thinking to people who maybe loved the brand but were unable to buy it!!

I am Italian and Aspesi is one of my favourite brands too. It’s especially great for essentials and basics. The layering vests are amazing investments: I wear them under a perfect tailored coat in winter for extra warmth in those cold days. You can carry them everywhere, fold them up and tuck them in your handbag…so Scott, I think you’re just looking for an excuse to buy more and more beautiful clothes when in Milan…

I can’t believe you may know about Al Bazar! That’s just the most milanese shop ever (the good old fashioned milanese very affluent guy’s look has been shaped there for ages).

My grandmother has a boutique in a small town called Moena, a place hidden among the Italian alps and virtually unknown. It’s a shame, because she sells some of the most amazing labels that I have ever seen for classic men’s outerwear. She’s been buying Aspesi for over half a century know, and is close friends with Alberto. I had always loved the brand, but had never seen it anywhere in magazines and blogs. Thank you for sharing!

I guess Aspesi is not known in the States…
Their clothes are kind of like lower priced alternatives to Loro Piana in terms of understated style and functionality.
They are great functional/useful clothing that compliment anything that is already in your closet.
Highly recommended…but their sizing is a bit odd.
I’ve got pieces from them ranging in M to XL.

Andrea Gallieri, the designer for Aspesi is very talented, and one of the most erudite designers in the business – that look reflects the way he dresses.
