They look like they’re having a lot of fun, I really like the last shot of camaraderie! These ladies must work out a lot to get those washboard stomachs!!! I also really enjoy the first shot, the beautiful lines of the one hitting the ball, and how you captured the image with the ball in the air.
These are beautiful images from Rio, and the athletic ones are great! You really capture the players well. But I was just wondering, are all of the women in Rio model sized? I appreciate the inclusion of some muscular women, but what a great potential opportunity to photograph outside of fashion’s ‘comfort zone.’ I know that you do sometimes take photos of people who don’t look like escaped models, but it just seems like there has been a lot of that lately. Best wishes,
alice, well said. i’ve been so happy looking at these pictures from rio – friends of mine are just back from there, and described such a fun and multi-faceted experience. i read an article recently about the invasion of convenience food into the brazilian diet, and how that is affecting the beach physique. i wonder if the sartorialist is seeing any fashionable people that are softer, or rounder, than what we’ve seen so far? regardless, it’s wonderful to see great photography, regardless of the subject. (and seeing super-fit people is marvelous!)
after all these photos the big question is, how do you keep your wife from killing you???? because you are waking up in the morning and telling her “hey darling, gotta get out and go take some pictures of really hot women, see u later”
I always appreciated the diversity of your shots – characters, clothes, styles. Lately it is all about perfect shapes, perfect materials, perfect people. It’s still lovely to look at those pictures but the magic is gone.
I wish people would shut up with the “real people” comments. So Scott sees some babes at the beach. That’s not unusual. Just because these men and women are toned and work hard for their body shapes does not make them any less “real” or “normal” than a person who carries extra weight or dresses in kooky clothing.
If you were laying out on the beach and saw these women, would you be just as critical? No, you’d admire their physiques. But because these photos are appearing on a fashion blog, suddenly you’re the one who gets to make a judgement call on what human beings are normal and real. And who cares if they’re in bikinis. They’re not going to wear designer high heels and couture dresses at the beach. For all you griping and complaining about the lack of style, get a grip. I’m sure these people have beautiful styles when they’re in the city.
Tantrum aside, these shots inspire me to work out and keep fit. Keep them coming, Scott; the photos are beautiful.
Just because somebody is in shape does NOT mean they’re perfect. You say that like it’s a bad thing. Don’t say the magic is gone just because Scott found some women who have toned physiques. Not everyone is thin, but not everyone carries extra weight.
I train for Ironmans and am vegan, and even I don’t look nearly as good as those two. They have to work hard for those bodies, good genes aside. Good for them! Have to go, it’s time for me eat a pastry ; )
